The wording in the brief club statement was something like 'in search of a higher level of football' so from that I can only gather that he hadn't officially found another club which does sound a bit odd. 

I would think George must of been out of contract otherwise we'd be entitled to ask for a fee.

I wouldn't be surprised if George has got himself an agent to get him that move up the pyramid.
