Yes, disappointing is putting it mildly, I haven't seen any match reports as yet which would indicate the Club are just as shocked as we are however there's nothing from Cambridge United Ladies either other than this very brief video clip of one of their goals with Real Bedford Ladies defenders looking shell shocked. Cambridge United Ladies now host Norwich City Ladies in the next round of the Women's FA Cup:

A belated match report from last weekend's Women's FA Cup Third Qualifying Round tie between Cambridge United Ladies and Real Bedford Ladies, the Club are still in a state of shock by the surprise 3-1 defeat as expectations were high to possibly reach the latter stages of the competition and meet an Arsenal Ladies, a Chelsea Ladies or a Manchester City Ladies however it sadly wasn't to be. Better luck this afternoon (Sunday 20 October) to the Ladies at Portsmouth based FA Women's National League Division One South West Moneyfields Ladies in the FA Women's National League Cup Second Round:

A good weekend for both Real Bedford Men and Real Bedford Ladies with the Men winning 3-0 at Hertford Town on Saturday in a Southern League Division One Central encounter and the Ladies winning 5-1 at Moneyfields Ladies yesterday in an FA Women's National League Cup Second Round tie to reach the Quarter Finals of the competition, a small consolation for prematurely exiting the Women's FA Cup last week. Real Bedford have been drawn at home against Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division Potton United in the Bedfordshire FA Senior Challenge Cup First Round, the tie takes place on Tuesday 22 October, it wasn't to be Bedford Town then who have been drawn away to Biggleswade Town so it is unlikely that the Club's will meet later in the competition

Let's get ready to rumble:

There shouldn't be any problems this evening at the Ledger Stadium should there against Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division Potton United, last season the two Club's met in League fixtures with Real Bedford winning 3-1 at then McMullen Park and 3-0 at the Hutchinson Hollow in the space of a three week period during November last year:

No difficulties whatsoever last night against Potton United at the Ledger Stadium in a Bedfordshire FA Senior Challenge Cup First Round tie, I gather a visit to Barton Rovers in the Second Round of the competition awaits where Rob Sinclair's men have already won comfortably in a Southern League Division One Central fixture. Should Bedford Town win their First Round tie at Biggleswade Town next Tuesday evening and defeat Crawley Green at The Eyrie in the Second Round there will be a first competitive meeting between the two 'joined at the hip' Bedford Club's in a Semi Final tie, I believe at the Ledger Stadium:

Another interesting and fairly recent interview with Mr McCormack by James Lillywhite from Sky News:

Real Bedford FC play in the lower Leagues of English football. A matchday there seems, at first glance, like any other non-league Club - a sense of Community, a place to have a pie and a pint. But if you look a bit closer, you notice that the ground is actually sponsored by huge cryptocurrency companies like Gemini and Luxor - and that the Club is owned by Bitcoin podcaster Peter McCormack. New Money takes a look inside new digital industries, speaking to some of the influencers, content creators and business owners across the UK. Sky's James Lillywhite spent a day at Real Bedford FC in March to find out Peter’s plan to get his team to the Premier League - all backed by Bitcoin.

No problems for Rob Sinclair's men yesterday afternoon at Flackwell Heath, despite the narrow looking 1-0 scoreline, and in front of a large attendance of 314 at leafy Wilks Park in rural Buckinghamshire, substitute Archie Jones netted just after the hour mark and the resolute defence stood firm thereafter. No problems whatsoever for Real Bedford Ladies this afternoon at the Ledger Stadium, beating Chesham United Ladies, wait for it, 12-2 to remain one of only two Club's unbeaten this season in the FA Women's National League Division One South East and with a game in hand of the two Club's currently above them as well as now, after today's 'cricket score', the best goal difference.

Lost for words over the weekend results for both the men's and women's Real Bedford teams. Not in my wildest dreams did I expect both teams to pushing for promotion. Viva Real Bedford

Some flesh on the bones from Real Bedford Ladies emphatic 12-2 victory over Chesham United Ladies yesterday's which included a five goal haul from Abbie Bensted, a clinical hat trick from Leyla O'Brien and braces from Gemma Biggadike and Amy Mclean, Chiara Meola and Sofia Casaubon Stovold were the other scorers, see a match report, local press coverage and the match programme. It was a shame that only 104 were in attendance at the Ledger Stadium to witness the extraordinary rout against a side who held Norwich City Ladies to a draw last month and, unlike Real Bedford Ladies, have reached the First Round of the Women's FA Cup:

LondonEagle - I wouldn't trust Lee Bircham further than you can throw him, you will find that out when things start to go 'Pete Tong' for him at The Eyrie or if he has a disagreement or falling out, he was very fortunate to get promotion last season through the play-off's and it was 'criminal' how he treated Leighton Town, leaving the Club in the lurch and 'up the creek without a paddle'. Anyway, having said that, fair play to Bedford Town for being top of the table however out of the current top nine they have only met Stratford Town, Redditch United, Stamford and Banbury United so far and struggled in all of those games, losing tamely at Banbury United only last Tuesday.

It's hardly surprising that London Eagle has been as quiet as a Church, sorry, Field mouse following Bedford Town's two successive League defeats at Banbury United and lowly Barwell who embarrassingly won 3-1 at The Eyrie on Saturday 19 October, Bedford Town had no game last Saturday and have, to put it mildly, 'slid', down to sixth in the Southern League Premier Division Central table having topped the division just two week's ago. The remainder of the campaign looks like going from bad to worse for Lee Bircham's men who have a tricky looking trip to Bromsgrove Sporting tomorrow evening and host an unpredictable St Ives Town side next Saturday, followed by a visit to the 'fortress' of AFC Telford United.

Cruz - 'O ye of little faith', I still strongly believe that the Club are fully on course to realise Mr McCormack's prediction for the Men's team to reach the Premier League by 1931/32 and for the Ladies team to reach the FA Women's Super League by 2027/28. How are you keeping by the way, how's life in Bolivia, I see the former President, Evo Morales, survived an assasination attempt yesterday and there is also a warrant out for his arrest, don't you miss the stability of our green and pleasant land where you grew up under the likes of Alec Douglas-Home, Harold Wilson, Edward Heath. Best wishes.

Absolutely massive weekend. Had so much fun following along on my travels. Finally back and ready to get fully locked in to the league campaign. I'll be making a couple of trips to western Europe for work but sadly never quite close enough to justify the trip over to McMullen Park. Maybe I'll have to convince Mrs. Raleigh to do some sightseeing in the UK!
