'No nonsense' full back Hannah Warren (pictured) has also recently signed for her former boss Charlie Bill from Milton Keynes Dons Ladies where she had loyally remained and plied her trade for five seasons. Hannah was the Club's only Ladies player to be sponsored by high profile Milton Keynes based chartered accountancy firm Mercer & Hole who also sponsored star men's first team striker Mo Eisa, showing how highly regarded she was at Stadium MK:

As for the relationship the Club have with Bedford Town it's so childish on their part isn't it and a crying shame that the Eyrie Club can't accept Mr McCormack's olive branch however it's very much their loss, I don't even think they accepted the £10,000 that Mr McCormack generously offered them towards the work on their new pitch, that says it all.

Not sure relations are that bad currently. Peter M attended the Bedford Town play-off Final at The Eyrie in May with no issues, and Real Bedford generously offered use of their car park an an overspill car park that day, which Bedford Town gratefully accepted and acknowledged on their website.

Former Tottenham Hotspur Ladies, Harlow Town, London Bees and Oxford United playmaker Abbie Bensted (pictured) has joined Real Bedford Ladies in what is yet another inspired acquistion for Manager Charlie Bill, you have to scratch your head as to how, as is also the case with Men's team boss Rob Sinclair, Charlie finds so many high quality players. Whilst at Harlow Town, after leaving Tottenham Ladies, Abbie netted 33 goals in a season, she also spent a year in America on a scholarship programme earning valuable experience:

I'm sure Bedford Town had Mr McCormack at The Eyrie that bank holiday afternoon against Waltham Abbey on sufferance and through gritted teeth, I don't expect the Club rolled out the red carpet for him did they, like Real Bedford do for all Officials and distinguished guests, or welcomed him with open arms into the boardroom with a botte of Jack Daniels.

Goalkeeper Darcie Guy (pictured) has signed for Real Bedford Ladies, no relation I believe to Wimbledon heroic goalkeeper from the 1970's Dickie Guy, Darcie was previously with Milton Keynes Dons Ladies, Billericay Town Ladies, and Peterborough United Ladies as well as being selected as part of the England College FA (ECFA) squad for the 2022/23 season:

Barry Fry was there as well and he was happy just to watch the game. I am sure there were many distinguished local football people in attendance, but it's only a small boardroom and priority is for home and away officials and the 4 match officials.

Sunday's Ladies fixture with London Bees is covered in the informative on-line London Football Guide:

London Bees v Real Bedford @2pm - the hosts came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with QPR in their first game following relegation from the third tier. Next up they face a challenging game against one of the favourites for the title. The Pirates won their fifth-tier Division last season and, backed by their crypto millionaire owners, significantly beefed up their squad over the summer with many players coming in from third tier MK Dons. They got off to a good start with a solid 3-0 win over Ashford Town who finished fourth last season and will be aiming for another three points here. Tickets

No wonder LondonEagle is conspicuous by his absence following Real Bedford's 8-0 win over North Leigh yesterday and Bedford Town's 2-1 defeat at Harborough Town

A hard fought 3-2 win for Real Bedford Ladies this afternoon against a stubborn London Bees side, see some match reports:

Lol Rhodes North Leigh have lost their last TWENTY-THREE leagues games in a row in Southern League Central One. The team is just kids after their Chairman pulled all the funding last season. It's unlikely they will win a league game all season.

Bedford Town on the other hand lost 2-1 to a team of men, one division higher.

As for Bedford Town, it was certainly a decent 4-1 win however you have to admit they were fortunate to catch Halesowen Town on a terrible day at the office and next Saturday's trip to a good Harborough Town side will be a different ball game.

LondonEagle - I did warn you that Bedford Town's visit to Harborough Town on Saturday would be difficult, Real Bedford went there in a pre-season friendly last month earning huge plaudits from their Manager Mitch Austin and, despite having the lions share of the play, also lost 2-1. Anyway good luck this afternoon against Bishop's Stortford, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the last time the Club's met in a League fixture at the Eyrie was 2006/07 in your one and only ever season at Step 2 level in the Conference South, finishing rock bottom.

You couldn't make it up could you, Real Bedford Ladies have been drawn at home to Milton Keynes Dons Ladies, boss Charlie Bill's former Club, in the FA Women's National League Cup Preliminary Round, the tie is due to be played at McMullen Park on Wednesday 28 August.

Roll on Wednesday (28 August) evening, under the floodlights, at the Ledger Stadium and the FA Women's National League Cup Preliminary Round tie between Real Bedford Ladies and Milton Keynes Dons Ladies which will be live streamed, you literally couldn't write it could you that the Club's were drawn together in the competition so soon after so much transfer activity between them:

6 points on the long weekend. I know those are shaping up to be two contenders for relegation but I'll take the results. A much deserved rest entering September. Ladies game got spicy late but thrilled they held on as well.

RallyInRaleigh - Firstly here is a link to the programme from Saturday's match with North Leigh. Yes, the last two results this holiday weekend make it all the more baffling that Real Bedford lost the match with Welwyn Garden City as well as the FA Cup tie to St Neots Town however I wonder whether exiting the FA Cup at the first hurdle will prove to be a huge blessing in disguise as had the Club been caught up in a long run, to the First or Second Round proper, or even further, it would have no doubt distracted from the League and automatic promotion as, come April, I won't want to be involved in the lottery of the play-off's which Bedford Town somehow, more by luck than judgement, managed to successfully negotiate last season:

Surely Ryman Premier League was also Step 2 before The Conference had 3 divisions, I think you will find Bedford Town spent several seasons in that league since reformation?

Anyway, what a great result for a team that was Step 4 last season beating a team who were Step 2 last season.
