Lol narrow 2-1 victory where Ware scored with the very last kick of the game. Nothing to crow about as a semi-final win doesn't mean anything.

LondonEagle - How confident are you about Monday afternoon, Waltham Abbey are the 'form horse' in the play-off's having won five of their last seven matches and drawing the other two, they also beat Champions Biggleswade Town recently. What sort of attendance are you expecting at The Eyrie:

Hi Rhodes,

Apparently an attendance of 1500 is hoped for, possibly even up to 2k.

No other local games on Monday. Couple of my mates went to watch MK Irish Wednesday night, but they've already bought their tickets for Monday.

Whatever has been said between Real Bedford and Bedford Town, it would still be good for the town to have a team at Step 3 next season.

It's probably a 50/50 shout. I will probably shed a tear either way.   If we win then that's 3 Bedford teams this seasons and 3 promotions, Real Bedford Men's & Ladies and Bedford Town Men's and I'd happily raise a glass to that with anyone.

Congrats to Bedford Town. The derby will have to wait at least another season!

A reminder that Real Bedford Ladies are in action again on Sunday (5 May) against Stevenage FC Ladies, at the Hertfordshire FA County Ground in Letchworth, in their penultimate Eastern Region Women's League Premier Division fixture of the season, kick off 2.00pm. The two sides have met twice before this season, both at McMullen Park, in August in the first Eastern Region Women's League Premier Division fixture of the campaign, resulting in a 4-1 win, and in a Women's FA Cup Third Qualifying Round tie in October, resulting in a 4-0 victory.

A nine goal thriller and 5-4 defeat for Real Bedford Ladies on Sunday (5 May) afternoon at the Hertfordshire Sports Village in Hatfield and not at the Hertfordshire FA County Ground in Letchworth due to a very late change of venue. Boss Georgia Clarke rested a number of the senior squad of players ahead of tomorrow's (Wednesday 8 May) Bedfordshire FA Women's County Cup Final against AFC Dunstable Ladies at Kempston Rovers FC, Sophie Mulvihill and Francesca Partridge with a brace each scored Real Bedford Ladies goals on Sunday:

Yes, I echo the congratulations however you have to say that Bedford Town, and especially Manager Lee Bircham, 'got out of jail' and must be breathing a huge sigh of relief today. Regarding missing out on playing against Real Bedford next season, in a League fixture, that might not have happened anyway if Real Bedford are placed in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands which is looking a possibility pending, I would have thought, a strong appeal from the 'forceful' Peter McCormack:

Also, a reasonable chance of being drawn against each other in the FA Cup or Trophy.

It's Tommy SteeIe time again folks and 'what a picture, what a picture, what a photograph', this time of Real Bedford's memorable awards night celebration last Friday evening, I expect there were quite a few sore heads on Saturday:

Let's get ready to rumble, it's not clear whether there will be a live stream from Hillgrounds Road:

Was chatting to somebody about the stats, and we think that's the best season for football attendances in Bedford for 50 years - 73/74 season was last time there were 4 separate crowds over 1,000 at competitive football games in Bedford.

Note the 7.30pm kick off this evening at Kempston Rovers Hillgrounds Road ground for the Bedfordshire FA Women's County Cup Final, it is still unclear whether it will be live streamed:

Congratulations to Real Bedford Ladies on lifting the Bedfordshire FA Women's County Cup last night (Wednesday 8 May) at nearby Hillgrounds Road, beating AFC Dunstable Ladies 5-0 with goals from Amber Smith, Lisa Milliken, Erin Price and a brace from, who else, Natasha Fensome:

LondonEagle - That's interesting, thanks, this link highlights that 1973/74 campaign which was memorable due to the power crisis and midweek afternoon kick off's which attracted huge crowds didn't they:

Thanks Rhodes, as an aside was good to see Barry Fry and his wife at the match at the New Eyrie on Monday. One of football's great characters.

Another photograph of Real Beadford Ladies lifting (literally) the prestigious Bedfordshire FA Women's County Cup on Wednesday evening against AFC Dunstable Ladies, also see a match report. Can the Ladies do it again on Sunday 19 May at Newmarket Town FC against Wroxham FC in the Final of the Eastern Region Women's League Cup:

LondonEagle - Yes, from memory, Barry, who was born and bred in Bedford, played for Bedford Town between 1969 and 1972 and Managed for the very disappointing 1977/78 campaign, when the Club were relegated from the Southern League Premier Division, before moving to Barnet. I wonder what his thoughts are on Real Bedford and fellow 'Maverick' Peter McCormack 😉.

He could have asked him on Monday as Peter was at the game as well! Yes, I think Barry played a few games as player-Manager in 77/88. The late Norman Cooley described him as looking like 'a pork-pie on legs!'

I see that 'stark' lessons have been learned from last season and Real Bedford's kit for next season has already been ordered with a company called Macron, there will be a third shirt (pictured) and orders can be placed here, please do not all rush at once for fear of crashing the website:

Macron is same suppliers as last year although think the issues were only down to 1 person at Macron.

Rhodes, I think provisional league allocations will be released on Monday, is. that correct?
