Jordan Brown no longer with the squad is a bit of a shocker. I'm sad to see him go. Any news yet on where he is heading? I know Stevens took a large bite out of his playing time but it hurts to see last years run away scoring leader depart so soon

RallyInRaleigh - Yes, that's a crying shame Jordan Brown has left McMullen Park, it's also a pity Jordan was wrongly accused of racism in the short time he was with the Club over that widely publicised incident against Langford last season and I see that the FA quickly issued new guidance to Referees nationwide straight afterwards.

No difficulties yesterday then for Rob Sinclair's men at Tring Athletic in a very convincing 4-0 victory, I wasn't aware there was a live broadcast on local CW Sport Radio, here's a link to the station for future reference and Tring Athletic's match report:

A comfortable 4-0 win for Bedford Ladies this afternoon against Barking Ladies who were unbeaten on their way to promotion from the Eastern Region Women´s League Division One South last season to the Premier Division Division, amassing 80 goals in just 16 League games including 9-0. 9-2, 9-1 and 14-3 wins. The Ladies already sit pretty at the top of the Premier Division table as the only team with maximum points so far, Wroxham Ladies won't be looking forward to their visit to Trafford Park next Sunday (10 September).

What a start to the new Eastern Region Women´s League Premier Division campaign yesterday (Sunday 13 August) for Real Bedford Ladies at McMullen Park with a 4-1 win against a bemused Stevenage Ladies who finished third in the table last season, just three points behind Champions AFC Sudbury Ladies

A belated match report from Bedford Ladies first League fixture of the campaign and an impressive 4-1 win over Stevenage Ladies, courtesy of Stevenage FC, an interesting quote whatever it is supposed to mean, it sounds like sour grapes:

https://www.stevenagefc.com/news/2023/august/report-real-bedford-4-1-stevenage-fcw/

From the moment the team arrived and entered the tunnel to the dressing rooms, the ground gave off a vibe akin to that of a theme park prior to going on a frightening rollercoaster.

Here's a very interesting recent article about the Club and Chairman Peter McCormack's amazing venture which has caught everybody's imagination:

https://forkast.news/bitcoin-real-bedford-football-bear-market/

In the first installment of Forkast’s ‘Crypto in Sport’ series, we visit the U.K. and the homeground of Real Bedford — the world’s first Bitcoin-funded football team. Can the team’s rock-n-roll rebrand under Bitcoin evangelist Peter McCormack propel the team up the English football pyramid? Or will the crypto winter put a freeze on its progress.

Very disappointed to see Kevin Owusu has returned to his former club Winslow. Thanks for everything Kevin  a very good player at our level last season.

A groundhopper from another Forum was at McMullen Park yesterday to witness the rout over Sawbridgeworth Town:

Real Bedford 7 Sawbridgeworth Town 0
Spartan South Midlands Premier
Adm: £4 (concession) Prog: available (not sure of price). Att: 161

Looking for somewhere different I rocked up here expecting to be a bit negative about the ‘project’. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Friendly welcome, good size portacabin clubhouse, lots of youngsters present with many in replica shirts.
The game was never really a contest although Sawbo did have a good chance to equalise at 1-0. That was as good as it got for the visitors as 3 first half goals were followed by 4 more after the break.
The attendance, while down on recent home games, was 10 times that when I last visited a few years back to watch Bedford FC.
Real have a decent team that play some very good football. I would be very surprised if they are not in the promotion mix at the end of the season, although a serious amount of the improvement will be needed that bring the ground up to the relevant grading.
So following last Sunday’s visit next door to see Biggleswade FC demolish Malden & Tiptree 8-0, that’s 15 goals seen in a week. Hopefully I will get to witness something more competitive next time out.

Wroxham made it interesting late didn't they? The ladies of Bedford feel like they may well overrun the league. Pretty wild after last years effort.
