No outing for Real Bedford Ladies tomorrow (Sunday 20 August) however they travel to Creasey Park to take on last season's Division One North Champions AFC Dunstable Ladies for an Eastern Region Women´s League Premier Division fixture on Thursday (24 August), kick off 7.45pm. AFC Dunstable Ladies surprisingly lost 5-0 at fellow promotees, and Champions from Division One South last season, Barking Ladies in their opening fixture last Sunday whilst Real Bedford Ladies were ruthlessly beating Stevenage 4-1 with goals from Natasha Fensome, substitute Neve Mayes and a clinical brace from Gemma Croucher.

A 'premature' FA Cup Preliminary Round exit on Saturday afternoon then for Real Bedford at McMullen Park in a thrilling encounter but good luck to Milton Keynes Irish in the next round of the competition at either East Thurrock United or Barton Rovers, see a match report, the match programme and an interesting post match interview with disappointed supremo Rob Sinclair:

Irish have played great in both contests. If the assumption is that the Pirates will compete at the top of the table again this year, and I think they will, the Irish might just have to be considered their chief foil this year.

Also a possibility of a Bedford derby game in either the FA Cup or the Beds Senior Cup

I see that the draw for the Bedfordshire FA Senior Challenge Cup has been made and unfortunately Real Bedford and Bedford Town have avoided each other in the First Round, Real Bedford travel to Bell Close to take on Leighton Town on Tuesday 24 October:

The draw for the Bedfordshire FA Women's County Cup Competition, where Real Bedford Ladies reached the Final last season against Luton Town Ladies, however I am a bit 'confused of Tunbridge Wells' whereby they appear to have been given a bye all the way to the Quarter Final stage. Interestingly Bedford Ladies Development are taking part in the competition and entertain Eaton Bray (EB) Lions AFC Ladies on Sunday 15 October, presumably at McMullen Park:

What a win for Bedford Ladies last night at Creasy Park against AFC Dunstable Ladies who lost only twice last season on their way to promotion from the Eastern Region Women´s League Division One North to the Premier Division Division. Tasha Jayne, Amy Reed, Sophie Billing, Gemma Croucher, Lauren Coppin and Francesca Partridge with a clinical brace got the goals.

Looking forward listening to this game on twitter spaces. Shame they can't stream the cup games on Saturdays per FA rules but I'm hopeful they can make a deep run in the Vase.

I noticed that Dan Walker scored four goals for Newport Pagnelll this weekend against Oadby. Great result for Real Bedford against Rothwell.

Cruz - Yes, indeed, did you see the match programme. The lack of livestreams must be frustrating for you at the beginning of this new campaign but hopefully Arlesey Town will have no objection on Tuesday when Real Bedford make the short trip there for a League fixture:

Lets get ready to rumble, I assume there will be a livestream although there is no indication on the Club's website:

I BELIEVE that Arlesey said no thank you to the stream to though I don't know that for sure. And of course the FA doesn't allow streams internationally of Saturday cup games. So a bit of stuttering start for the long distance fans. Still, they've added radio streams via twitter spaces so it's better than nothing for now. Big chance for three points but I look forward to a nice string of streams, when possible.

RallyInRaleigh - If it is any consolation, when a Club refuse a livestream request they are, from memory, always put to the sword by Rob Sinclair's men so it backfires on them in the end, hopefully it will be the same for spoil sports Arlesey Town this evening who seem to be cutting off their nose to spite their face. I assume it was Dave Kitson who denied it as he is the top man at Hitchin Road which is surprising being a former high profile professional player who once transferred for £5.5 million from Reading to Stoke City:

Bound to be a bigger crowd if no free livestream, can see why for a local derby they wouldn't want to give it out online for free what's in it for them?

Also their next few opponents can also watch the stream and video if they allow it, instead of actually having to send Scout or Manager there.

LondonEagle - Thanks, point taken but it still backfired on Arlesey Town didn't it:

Jordan Brown no longer with the squad is a bit of a shocker. I'm sad to see him go. Any news yet on where he is heading? I know Stevens took a large bite out of his playing time but it hurts to see last years run away scoring leader depart so soon.

Not difficult to geolock the streams to exclude the UK even if that was the primary concern. I can see having concerns over pitch conditions for setup when bringing in the streaming equipment. Must, at minimum, require assembly of some type of scaffolding to get the appropriate views. But i have a hard time believing that of the 140 total people that made the trip to see the game, more than like 5 would have stayed home to watch a live stream, if offered. They don't even leave the stream up to be rewatched online later so, sure, maybe a scout watches but you're not going to pick up on nearly as much off a relatively poorly produced stream (it's fantastic for viewing but let's not pretend it's a premier league level tv production) as you would in person. If teams were relying on that to be their secret to beating Arlesey Town, they've got bigger problems.
