It would appear that Milton Keynes Dons Development Ladies have cried off on Sunday (6 August) as Real Bedford Ladies will now travel to Wormley Ladies for their final pre-season friendly before embarking on their eagerly awaited Eastern Region Women´s League Premier Division campaign, kick off is 2.00pm at Wormley Playing Fields

No problems for Real Bedford Ladies last Sunday who defeated Wormley Ladies 5-1 ahead of their Eastern Region Women´s League Premier Division kick off against Stevenage FC Ladies at McMullen Park on Sunday (13 August).

It looks as if the replay against FC Clacton may well be streamed on Tuesday as they were already equipped to stream the league game at that same time.

It's a shame really the FA Cup games aren't being streamed, I'm sure in the US some fans would prefer to watch those over some of the less attractive league games.

Perhaps it's just as well, at least where Saturday's surprise FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round postponement at FC Clacton was concerned due to the awful weather for this time of the year. It must have been difficult for boss Rob Sinclair to assemble his troops at short notice for last night's re-arranged tie, and the travelling involved, to the Essex coast and under the circumstances a 2-2 draw was a good result with the replay at McMullen Park taking place next Tuesday (15 August):

We will play our FA Cup Replay against FC Clacton on Tuesday 15th August, 7.45pm KO at McMullen Park.
This will result in our league game against Baldock Town being rescheduled to a further date.
Fans who have already purchased tickets for the clash vs Baldock will be able to use their ticket for entry into the FA Cup game on Tuesday. Season ticket holders are reminded that their tickets are not eligible for Cup ties.

Dan Walker departed.

Signing for Newport Pagnell Town. Big loss.

Yes  very disappointed that Dan has left, he was class at this level. I am beginning to fear that Real may have a weaker team this season not so much experience, do not worry I am a glass half empty person as opposed to half full. I am still disappointed that many of the team from last season have yet to appear in Real colours this season.

Certainly not happy to see him off but was he much of a contributor down the stretch of last season? It felt like he was a one man team averaging a brace for the first 10 games of the season and then mostly disappeared when Brown came on the scene. He was on the bench for the MK Irish opener and not on the roster for the cup game. He's a loss but he seems to have fallen out of favor for whatever reason long before this season started.

I'm not sure Wlalker is the easiest player to manage tactically.

As basically "all he does" is get the ball on wing generally, cut into towards goal, where he then either shoots very hard on goal, sometimes scoring but if not possibly forcing a save which a teammate will score from, or he will square to a team-mate.who will possibly score.

He's a bit of a maverick who doesn't really fit into a tight pressing system involving 90 minutes of running and closing down opponents.

But if fit and on form then he's a joy to watch.

What a start to the new Eastern Region Women´s League Premier Division campaign yesterday (Sunday 13 August) for Real Bedford Ladies at McMullen Park with a 4-1 win against a bemused Stevenage Ladies who finished third in the table last season, just three points behind Champions AFC Sudbury Ladies:

See the match report from the fixture at Cockfosters on Saturday (12 August) and a very interesting post match interview with a disappointed boss Rob Sinclair who felt his men should have brought all three points back to McMullen Park:

Action from the first fixture of the League campaign against Milton Keynes Irish, on Tuesday 1 August, who certainly won't be looking forward to re-visiting McMullen Park in an FA Cup Preliminary Round tie on Saturday 19 August should Rob Sinclair's men put Essex Senior League FC Clacton to the sword tomorrow evening in their Extra Preliminary Round Replay:

This is rather strange isn't it, why on earth would Dan Walker want to leave McMullen Park in the twilight of his long football career where his numerous previous Club's include Stony Stratford Town, Leighton Town, Cambridge United, Eastbourne Borough, Southport, Luton Town, Braintree Town, Hereford United, Eastleigh, Aldershot Town, Hemel Hempstead Town, Welling United, Billericay Town, Farnborough, Bedford Town and Biggleswade Town. It doesn't make any sense does it:

Real Bedford can confirm that Dan Walker has left the club with immediate effect.
The striker made 30 appearances for the club last campaign, scoring 19 goals during The Pirates league and cup winning season.
We would like to place on record our thanks to Dan for his services at McMullen Park and wish him all the best for the next phase of his career.

Real Bedford Ladies off to a fantastic start with a rather smashing victory over a strong side from last season. Hopefully a sign of things to come. Peter remains bullish on seeing both sides promoted this year--a tremendous accomplishment if they can manage it.

I'm struck by the league table already. Through 2 games, only one team managed a clean 2-0-0 start in Leverstock Green. If it's a sign of things to come, it should make for a very fun and chaotic season. But for now, to cup business as hopefully we can progress through both the Vase and FA Cup in the coming weeks.

No difficulties then for Rob Sinclair's men against FC Clacton in their FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round Replay at McMullen Park on Tuesday evening with a 4-1 victory, see a match report and the match programme. Milton Keynes Irish await in the Preliminary Round of the competition at McMullen Park on Saturday, coincidentally a repeat of the opening League fixture of the season just two weeks ago:
