Referee Mr Satyam Toki is still awaiting Police action following the violent assault during a game involving Sporting Club de Mundial on Sunday 9 August, also I wonder what disciplinary action the Hackney & Leyton Sunday League have taken against the Club who 'focus on Community and making people fall in love with football again':

Hackney & Leyton Sunday League have no jurisdiction.

Some minor changes to the laws of the game for this coming season have been announced:

I wonder what decision Referee's would make in this situation as the defender coming across to tackle clearly stumbles before making the tackle making it look far worse than it was:

There is some interesting Refereeing discusion on another Forum on a thread entitled 'Right or wrong? You be the ref', I was wondering if, in the unlikely event, PetetheGreek has ever been over ruled by the Referee during a game whether he has felt aggrieved or angry if he is sure that he had made the correct decision:

Hassan Rajwani, Level Five Referee and CEO of the company Doublesix, was on Ollie Bayliss's BBC Three Counties Radio Non League Show this afternoon giving him the 'hard sell' on a new all in one smartwatch and mobile app that has been developed to assist Referees on the pitch, it was initially aimed at grassroots Referees however the product has received a very positive reception Worldwide and FIFA have even shown a keen interest, it would be interesting to get PetetheGreek's view of it:

Refsix is a smartwatch for football referees

I'm used to the old way of pad and pen to record details

That's exactly what Hassan Rajwani 'ridiculed' on the show but not in so many words, I think he actually mentioned 'pad and pen' and hinted that it went out with the arc however I'm not criticising you for still using it as I am old school too.

This guy sound like a salesman.

I would guess that over 99% of Referees around the world still use pen and pad.

Referee Mr Satyam is rightly appalled that the Sporting Club de Mundial player who punched him in the face during a match on 9 August has got off with a Police caution however thankfully, and on the positive side, the player was given a 10-year ban by the local Football Association. I do think that Mr Satyam was wrong to play the race card though and say that he "believes there is an element of racial discrimination to the decision as attacks on white officials have led to assault charges and Court proceedings", he went on to say "I didn't want to mention it but it feels like discrimination against me, if something had happened against a white official, would it have been taken more seriously".

Definitely wrong to play the race card.

I was once involved in court proceedings as a witness to an assault on an Afro / Caribbean Referee. The police were exemplary in the way they handled the case which was proven as too were the County FA who supported the Referee. Once the court case had concluded, the County FA who had a charge pending then actioned the Case and the player was banned for a lengthy period.

I assume that Paul Howard was the fourth Official here or just an observer, it's the 2014 London FA Senior Cup Final between AFC Wimbledon and Metropolitan Police at Imber Court:

Paul had an excellent game.

On how many occasions did you Officiate with Paul out of interest, I assume you keep records, I remember you did the 2011 Premier Division Cup Final together at London Colney but I think Paul was the Fourth Official that evening when Colney Heath beat Leverstock Green.

I don't keep records but I have been on many a game with Paul.

I'm not surprised he has reached his current level.

How does it make you feel out of interest when you see young Officials such as Paul, and Ben Furneaux for example, progress up the Pyramid at the rate of knots leaving you behind or are you happy to just remain at the same level

I am happy with the level that I officiate at.

It's always good to see young referees fulfill their potential and rapidly move up through the levels.

There was a thread on here a few years back entitled 'Referee Promotions' and it was suggested that Referees were getting promoted far too easily and at the drop of a hat, is that still the case. As PetetheGreek said 'it is always good to see young Referees fulfill their potential and rapidly move up through the levels' however perhaps not too rapidly:
