The character that was Alex Brown !  Not the best footballing centre half you could see but what a great character/personality to have in a squad.

I loved when he offered his on field 'pearls of wisdom'. He would come out with some right old boll*cks but he was bloody funny and seemed a nice guy.

I thought some fans underestimated his impact, when he played alongside Nathan Bowden Hause and Dave Woozley in a back three. Certainly shook up the opposition when he and Nathan emerged from the tunnel. He definitely shored us up when in a 3-5-2 formation for awhile but found it hard going in a 4-4-2 when at Slough. Definitely better in the air than with the ball at his feet. However, he put a number of good displays for Slough. I thought he may of made the cut for Bakes and Unders first season, as a squad player but it was not to be.

Bumped into Alex Brown last week walking his dog in a nature reserve in Kings Langley. He hasn't shrunk at all!!!?
