Beaconsfield SYCOB won the Premier Division Championship in 2007/2008 by a comfortable nine points, journeyman Craig Connor (pictured) was arguably their star man netting eleven times in just thirteen appearances at the sharp end of the campaign after arriving at Holloways Park from Burnham. The 2008/2009 SSML Premier Division Championship race was again a thrilling affair with it going right down to the wire, Biggleswade Town prevailed over Harefield United on goal difference by just one goal and were promoted to the Southern League, the season also coincided with the opening of their new ground on 13 August 2008 at Langford Road when Hertford Town were the visitors. Bobby Dance (pictured) was arguably Biggleswade Town's player of that season and he is currently plying his trade at Rothamstead Park with Harpenden Town, he has also had spells with Berkhamsted Town, Stotfold, Arlesey Town, Royston Town, Barton Rovers, Welwyn Garden City, Codicote and spent some time at Vicarage Road with Watford as a youngster:

I didn't know Rhodes was on the Kentish Town FC Committee as well? I knew Rhodes was once on the Haringey Borough FC Committee.

I was no longer with Kentish Town at that time and had joined Tokyngton Manor however, as far as I can recall, the eleven point deduction was for 'serious irregularities'. It was such a crying shame as the sky could have quite easily been the limit for the Club who had won the Division One Championship the season before with some truly outstanding players who have featured earlier in this thread

That was against Chalfont St Peter wasn't it in a 3-2 win for Biggleswade Town, it must have been really exciting with Harefield United winning 3-1 at Broxbourne Borough. How was it that you were allocated that game at the Carlsberg Stadium out of interest

Savagebee - I have actually had some suspicions for a while now that your memory is failing you, there are lots of old threads in the Forum archive that you posted on at the time. For your information I became involved with Tokyngton Manor shortly after their inspiring Chairman, Terry Springer, took on all of Ruislip Manor's debts after the Club were unceremoniously shown the door at Grosvenor Vale in 2008 by Wealdstone who had deviously and unscrupulously acquired the lease of the Ruislip Sports & Social Club. Ruislip Manor couldn't continue however Terry was determined to keep their never forgotten flag flying high, albeit under the then new name of Tokyngton Manor, and they now historically still exist as London Rangers FC in the Middlesex County League Division One West, having had their first season in the Hellenic League Division Two East in 2017/18, following a high profile affiliation agreement with Rangers FC in Scotland (formerly Glasgow Rangers):

Lets get back to the topic of this thread and SSML legends, past and present. Here's certainly a legend for you, Javier Rivera, who was instrumental for Kentish Town when they won the Division One Championship in 2007/2008, supplying the midfield ammunition for the prolific Lee Scott and man mountain Jonathan Donoghue up front, Javier didn't put a foot wrong or a single pass astray all season. Colombian born Javier played at a high level in Argentina before arriving in this Country and was shrewdly brought to the Copthall Stadium by boss Clement Temile's trusted lieutenant Hector Valera which proved to be the final piece in the jigsaw. After leaving Kentish Town he went on to play for Beaumont Athletic and Sporting Bengal United who he helped single-handedly to the FA Cup First Qualifying Round in 2016/17 and to the Essex Senior League Cup Final in 2013/14:

Ex Ruislp Manor FC, Harefield United FC, Southall FC and North Greenford United FC striker Aaron McLeish is back at Southall FC who play in The Combined Counties Premier Divison.

Aaron McLeish scored 19 goals in 23 games this season.

A strong defence won Aylesbury the SSML Premier Division Championship in 2009/10 and they were duly promoted to the Southern League Division One Central, coincidentally Aylesbury United were relegated from the Southern League Division One Midlands that season to join the SSML in 2010/11 until 2012/13 when they were promoted back to the Southern League in second place with unbeaten Dunstable Town. Aylesbury knew how to chisel out victories particularly narrow ones away from Haywood Way and in only their first away game of the campaign won 1-0 at Chalfont St Peter with a Craig Henney (pictured) strike who was by far their star man that season netting 54 times in 48 appearances, including 35 League goals. Henney was a technician and a craftsman, he could smell the back of a football net from a mile away and that was usually where the ball ended up when it was in his possession, he scored twice when Aylesbury also lifted the Premier Division Cup that season beating Hanwell Town 2-1 in an exciting Final at Cotlandswick:

About time we got to an actual legend ? I have it on good authority he came out of retirement in December and it now plying his trade for White Roding Vets over 45’s in the Essex Vets League

The SSML campaign of 2010/11 saw Chalfont St Peter win the Premier Division Championship by a comfortable twelve point margin from Tring Athletic, they led from start to finish and Charlie Strutton (pictured) was their star man netting 36 times in 47 appearances, including 28 league goals. Born and bred in the London Borough of Brent, Strutton started his career at Mill Meadow at youth level and quickly progressed to the First Team at the tender age of 17 where he became a prolific marksmen for the Saints before signing a short term professional contract for AFC Wimbledon in March 2012. Charlie's contract was extended at Kingsmeadow but unfortunately he never fulfilled his true potential due to injuries including a broken leg in his first game whilst on a one month loan spell at Aldershot in November 2013. After leaving AFC Wimbledon he went on to play for Braintree Town, Hayes & Yeading United, Slough Town and Maidenhead United before returning, Prodigal Son style, to Chalfont St Peter during the 2016/17 campaign albeit on loan from Maidenhead:
