Harefield United

Harefield United Reserves are in Herts Senior County League Premier Division action again this evening and make the trip to Wodson Park to play Bush Hill Rangers, kick off 8.00pm, hopefully they can follow in the footsteps of the First team who won 2-0 at London Colney last night in fairly comfortable fashion however Bush Hill Rangers won't be pushovers following their 4-0 home win over Glenn Sports on Saturday:

Where's Agamemnon3, a good win for Harefield United Reserves this afternoon, 2-1 at Hatfield Town, however the First team unfortunately lost 6-5 on penalties to Tring Athletic after a 1-1 stalemate in the FA Vase First Qualifying Round:

Agamemnon3, (whoever he is), was at Silver Jubilee Park yesterday watching Edgware Town huff and puff their way to a 3-1 win over a game, but limited, Irchester United before a pitiful 'crowd' of 48.

Of possibly more interest than the football on offer were the grumblings in the newly-refurbished clubhouse from the ET regulars.  It would appear, much to the disgust of those present, that draught beers are only to be available at Hendon FC home games, while the undoubtedly second-class ET faithful must learn to survive on over-priced bottles.  Indeed, standing quietly, and listening to the talk around me, it was apparent that there are a number of issues on which the two clubs do not agree, certainly enough to suggest that off-field relations between the co-tenants are somewhat strained.

This, of course, can often happen when one is unlucky enough to have a cuckoo in one's nest.

Harefield United Reserves travel to Herns Lane tomorrow to take on Welwyn Garden City Under 23's in a Herts Senior County League Premier Division fixture, there is a lot of Aubrey Cup action taking place however Harefield United Reserves home tie with Second Division Baldock Town Reserves has yet to be arranged, next Saturday (3 October) Sandridge Rovers visit Preston Park. Meanwhile the First team haven't really started the new campaign like a house on fire and have already exited both the FA Cup and FA Vase despite a good 5-2 win at Tuffley Rovers in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, the 2-0 Premier Division win at Cotlandswick was encouraging with goals from Richard Pacquette and Lenny Farhall however tomorrow's visit of Newport Pagnell Town to Preston Park won't be as straight forward against the early league leaders:

An excellent day at the office for Harefield Uited with the First team beating Newport Pagnell Town 4-3 at Preston Park, with goals from, who else, Richard Pacquette, Harry McCorkell and a brace from Samuel Shaw and the Reserve team now finding their feet in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division, winning 3-1 at Welwyn Garden City Under 23's who are no slouches with, as Karen knows, some of their players on the periphery of Step 4 football:

Harefield United's team sheet from their visit to Eynesbury Rovers yesterday and an excellent 3-1 win with goals from Thomas Payne and a brace from Lenny Farhall to make it four successive SSML Premier Division victories, that should be five when Edgware Town visit Preston Park on Tuesday evening who will have one eye on their Friday FA Vase Second Qualifying Round tie with Tring Athletic at Silver Jubilee Park. Meanwhile the Reserve side's Herts Senior County League Premier Division fixture with Sandridge Rovers at Preston Park was called off yesterday, they entertain Welwyn Garden City Under 23's on Saturday (10 October) having only won 3-1 at Herns Lane last week (26 September) with goals from Samuel Adetiba and a brace from Gurkan Gokmen (see match report):

This evening's Harefield United team sheet for the fixture with Edgware Town at Preston Park, surprisingly Edgware Town take the lead on just six minutes:

I missed the game last night, as i'm still self isolating, but by all accounts Edgeware played very well and definitely capitalized on a bad day in the office. the L had to come at some point. I hope to back at training for Thursday, so we can start to put right those mistakes and keep going with the good start we've made.

Harefield United Reserves renewed acquaintances with Welwyn Garden City Under 23's last Saturday in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division, this time at Preston Park, having won 3-1 at Herns Lane only two weeks before. On this occasion it was even more comprehensive with Jamie Derby's men running out 5-0 winners (see match report) with goals from Samuel Adetiba, Gary Edwards, Petrit Kransniqi, Zak Jackson and, who else, Gurkan Gokmen, this Saturday (17 October) Ware Sports will be shaking in their boots at the prospect of travelling to Preston Park now Harefield United Reserves have found their feet in their new environment this season after a sluggish start. They have also found out who their opponents will be in the First Round of the Middlesex FA Premier Cup and Enfield Borough have the pleasure of visiting Preston Park in week commencing Monday 16 November which, on paper at least, Mani Asare and Shaun Reece's men should come through but then football is not played on paper. As for the First team, they will participate in the Middlesex FA Senior Challenge Cup however have received a bye in the First Round, of far more importance to boss Jason Shaw will be this evening's visit to Tithe Farm to take on former Preston Park tenants Broadfields United who have started their campaign slowly albeit having played just three League fixtures, they will still be feeling dejected after exiting the FA Vase last Saturday on home 'soil' to Milton Keynes Irish, on Saturday Harefield United make the trip to Pancake Lane to face Leverstock Green:

This afternoon's team sheet and match programme for the visit to Pancake Lane to take on Leverstock Green, I understand that it is good news so far for Harefield United as they lead 2-0 approaching the hour mark with goals from Harry McCorkell on eleven minutes and Samuel Adetiba just before the half time whistle sounded. It could have been three as a spot kick was missed, furthermore Lindell Stewart needlessly saw red on the half hour mark however the ten men are performing very well. Harefield United Reserves are also in action this afternoon at Preston Park against Ware Sports and the score there is currently, and disappointingly, 3-0 to the visitors, it's unclear what is going so horribly wrong after three successive Herts Senior County League Premier Division wins:

This evening's (Tuesday 27 October) Harefield United team sheet for the SSML Premier Division fixture with Oxhey Jets at the Boundary Stadium, Oxhey Jets currently lead 6-0 with just under ten minutes left to play in what has been a disappointing night for the visitors to say the least:

Disappointing to say the least. We were thoroughly outplayed against a very skillful and dynamic jets team. I saw one comment on here that it was men against boys, and i don't disagree. I have worked out that with injuries and suspensions we have a full 11 players out, 8 of which you would say would be starters. No team in this league could cope with that amount changes especially to key personnel who help dictate the tempo of the game and control the style of football. We just need to find a way to compete until we have a fit squad again, and hopefully regain some of that early season form that put us in such a good postion.
