Hungerford Town have issued a statement saying that due to postponements and the swapping of Saturday games for Tuesday evening games   their budget calculations have been wrecked and they may have problems with players wages even   They have started a GoFundMe appeal for £20000  It has raised just over £400 as I write this.

Just now, Alan Greenaway said:

They claim that this seasons playing budget is £148K which they have to reduce quickly.

Over a 40 week season that equates to £3,700 per week. Basing that on 20 people that’s an average of £185 each.

But this happens every season at nearly every club? £20k seems excessive to cover what they stated. Could it be they’ve overspent or budgeted for crowds/income too high?

Their attendances are very similar to last season.

They did get beaten in their first matches in both the FA Cup & FA Trophy, so probably missed out what would have been £20k of prize money if they had got through a couple of rounds of each.

Seems a company called airwaves have a mast on the ground and have failed to pay rent since 2016 which has contributed to the black hole.

On top of that they have a leaky roof that needs mending.

They admit they have been punching well above their weight since they got promoted.

Probably a blessing that they will more than likely go down this season.

After 3 days they have managed to raise £477 of the 20k target.

I’m surprised the total is so low as you would expect fans and possibly players/management to have contributed even just a tenner each? 2 players have already left and I guess if that total doesn’t significantly rise then more will leave in the coming days.
