Given the weather over the last few days, I think many non-artificial surface clubs will suffer.

Lets hope many non-leagues allow an early cancellation to avoid early travel and later disappointment.

A comfortable win for Rayners Lane in one of only two fixtures to take place yesterday involving SSML Club's. Rob Hastings opened the scoring for The Lane on 34 minutes when slotting the ball calmly past the advancing keeper and it stayed 1-0 at the interval although FC Broxbourne Borough were unlucky not to go in level having an early goal ruled out for offside. Courtney Austin, who else, made it 2-0 just after the break and the great man netted again on roughly the hour mark to make it 3-0. It was pantomime season all over again on 70 minutes when one of the line Officials pulled up with a hamstring injury and Rayners Lane's Rob Hastings, who had netted the first goal, agreed to run the line for the remaining twenty minutes, the home side could have quite easily scored another two or three goals before the finish. I'm just wondering whether it was a certain Official who pulled up as I hadn't checked who was on the game, he is getting on a bit now.

An anorak from another Forum was at the only other game yesterday involving SSML Club's, also see the match programme:

SSML 1
St Panteleimon 2-1 Winslow United
Att 32, adm £5, prog online
A result which surely ends Winslow's outside title hopes and gives St Pants almost an unassailable lead at the top. Two decent teams faced four seasons worth of elements in one afternoon here, though thankfully the wind wasn't as much a spoiler as in recent weeks. It got right behind Pants' opener on the hour though, a ripper from 20 yards that flew into top bins despite the keeper getting a token hand to it. The lead was extended with about ten to go and it looked game over but Winslow pulled one back on 89, though never looked like getting an equaliser. Decent game, right result.
Clock-watchers would've been delighted with the 3.05pm kick off and second half injury time meant we finished just before 5pm. Getting chilly by then, despite the sun.
This was played on the 3G at the Middlesex FA HQ at Rectory Park, a temporary arrangement for Pants' remaining Saturday home games only (just two left after today, I believe). Described in depth on here a few weeks ago when a swarm of hoppers descended on it, an experience which presumably convinced the club that appeasing a flash mob with paper wasn't a good use of resources because they were back to only doing an online programme today! Even so, hopper types probably still made up at least a third of the published attendance - add in a sprinkling from Winslow and you wonder how far can a club like this can go with next to no support. Huge credit to them, though, for what they've achieved so far in their five year existence.

I thought Winslow Boy might have commented on the game yesterday as he was on here earlier, I gather they were well beaten despite the narrow scoreline and they only netted in the last minute: Billede

Heard we made a couple of errors that were duly punished. Even enough contest but Saints were the better side on the day. Disappointing of course, although I think our challenge for the title was realistically over sometime ago, this hammered in the final nail for sure. Need to concentrate on finishing as high as possible now.
