Wealdstone’s recent away form is pretty poor - 4 points from last six away matches.

Their two games in hand are away matches.

They seem to be reliant on fantastic home form, but lost their last home match to Chelmsford.

If any of us, Havant, Bath or Weymouth have a great run in & achieve 84 points I think they will catch Wealdstone.

So we’d just need to win 9 of our last 10 games then? Easy! ?

I for one am not expecting or even looking at top spot, that’s Wealdstone’s to really f*** up! Just so hoping we can get back to winning ways Saturday and finish 2nd or 3rd as that’ll be such a big advantage over the other play off places. The signs are looking good in terms of numbers on Saturday, relatively short easy journey so hoping 150+

I didn't say it was easy, but you finished last season with an exceptional run of form that was W6 D2 L2, and if it hadn't been for goals deep in to added time in the last two matches that would have been W8 L2.

So is it impossible that one of the four teams chasing Wealdstone can't achieve similar this season?

No it’s not impossible at all. My point was just that’s it’s an incredibly tall order.

Personally I believe Wealdstone will finish on more than 84 points anyway. Their current PPG suggests 91 but it’s likely to be somewhere between the two I’d say.

Still it’s great to be in this position to be even talking about it with 10 games to go. And plenty of drama still to come this season I reckon!

Just recently listened to Havant's manager Paul Doswell's after match interview. In it he says some harsh words to some of his own team's supporters but also has a lot of praise for the Slough team.

On the eve of the SLOUGH TOWN match, Paul Doswell in his match preview wrote "I want a packed Westleigh Park". With the wind having dropped, it was a perfect evening for football so he must have been very disappointed with a gate of 1,175, down from Saturday's gate of 1,266 against St.Alban's City. And where were most of the 1,175 in the second half? I was very impressed with Westleigh Park. An excellent pub, covered terrace behind each goal and covered stands on each side of the ground with plenty of refreshments and toilets facilities. I could not think of anything that was lacking or see anything that was in need of improvement. Unlike Wealdstone on New Year's Day!

The pitch maybe?

It looked a good, well maintained pitch. This is an abnormal season considering the phenomenal amount of rain that has fallen on Havant since the end of September.

SG, I think looking good and playing on that surface are two different things.

My point was that the club appear to have done everythng that they can to maintain the pitch. So it looks very good at the kick-off but is very quickly churned up once play commences.
Havant is just 39 feet above sea level and has had a phenomenal amount of rain since the end of September. A non-league club pitch simply can not cope with that amount of water however well it is mainained.
In his post-match interview Paul Doswell describes the goal as "Fogden dribbled through about eight divots". And that was after just 28 minutes!

Another non-league club along the south coast with a pitch unable to cope with the phenomenal amount of rain that has fallen on it is Poole Town. Their home match against Hayes & Yeading United today was postponed leaving them with thirteen home league matches to play with just fifty-six days of the league season left.
