Recall the away game at Kettering a few years ago in the Southern Premier, played in real windy conditions finishing 0-0

Every goal kick went out for a throw in, conditions were awful that day

I was at that match..... one of the least entertaining matches I think I have ever witnessed, but a point away to Kettering then was a good result, I think we had lost the opening match of the season at home to them.

But then beat them in the play off semi later that season ?

Yes and I had a bit of a row with Dave Anderson who came to placate us. I said we were winning and should have accepted any official to try and finish the game. He said it was too important a match to be potentially ruined by a dodgy official and bet me we would win the rematch.

We lost.

Considering the conditions I suppose a draw  will be considered acceptable by both teams. Excellent gate considering Anyone like to estimate the Havant number?

Things are certainly tightening at the top as we approach the sharp end  Weymouth Dorking and Bath all won today and all close up two points on ourselves.

Poor turnout from Havant fans, couldn’t have been much more than 100? Yes decent attendance considering many of the casual following would have been put off by the weather/warning (it was nowhere near as bad as it was bigged up to be, usual media over hype...). So a good 900 home fans which with the last home attendance definitely is on the up so great news.

As for the match itself, a draw was about right although I was concerned Havant would nick it but our defence held firm. You could see why they’re up there with their slick quick passing but there wasn’t really much of an goal threat. Their goal was very frustrating to concede as it was very sloppy whereas ours was great play by Lenchy. The conditions didn’t help with our passing a lot of the time going astray but we did have a few chances too. We’ve now got 3 consecutive away games with 2 being very tough ones making next Saturday’s match at Chelmsford a priority win really as it’s been said it’s very tight now between 2nd and 6th.

Yes please can someone expand on what happened between Tosswell and Guy as I only saw his silly antics and not what started it (although I’m guessing it may include a towel!).

We got a throw in which Guy Hollis went over to take, and Alex Moore ran down the touch line past the Havant dug out to give Guy a towel to dry the ball with...... Paul Doswell thought this was unfair (I don’t know what the rules are on this) & appeared to come out of his box to have a few words about it. It seemed as though Guy had a few choice words for him and Paul Doswell lost his cool and got a yellow..... he still didn’t drop the issue though, and carried on having words with Guy, Lenchy & Max, and if the referee had been a bit stronger he would have given him a red.

The weather ensured that it was never going to be a game for the purists.

With the wind in our favour we were the better side in the first half and created the better chances, unfortunately we only managed the one goal from Lenchy.

The roles were reversed in the second half with Havant being the better side with the better chances.

Only saw the Havant goal from the opposite end of the ground but it did look a bit of a soft one to concede.

Honours even which was probably a fair result.

I for one would not want to be having words with Max...Talk about a deathwish......The guy is built like a Brick *****
