V Oxford City 1st February H

The most likely outcome of this game imo is 3 more points for the Rebels  We've  played 14 home games and lost 1 on Aug 3rd more than 6 months ago

Oxford City come to us on the back of 3 straight defeats during which they've  scored 1 and conceded 8

I expect our great current form to continue.

Historical records mean nothing.

Agree with Glen, if we play to our best and put our chances away we will have a good chance of getting the points.

RR  But up to date current form  certainly  does as Glen referred to regarding our recent form and as I did referring to Oxford City

I think tomorrow will be tough. They are one of the few teams to beat us this season...

Hope to see 800 tomorrow (crowd, not goals ;)) - Thinking is it Prem League Half Teams Winter Break next two weeks?

Oxford played some really nice football and beat us fair and square on the day so we'll have to be on our game to get the points.

There are FA Cup replays next week but it seems there are 4 premier games next weekend and 6 the weekend after.

It was also ex slough player Andy Ballard 1st game in charge as manager so the usual team bounce.

Had a few chances early on, had one of them gone in I think we would have gone on and won. Didn’t think much of Oxford City in the first half who were lucky to go in half time one up (especially with deflected goal)...

I didn’t fret at half time, was confident we’d come out guns blazing.

i was more impressed with them second half, we didn’t look like scoring IMO.

surprised wellsy went of so early in the second half, he went of 3 mins after half time and straight down the tunnel.

couldnt see where a goal was coming from second half.

just one of those days at the office.

annoyed at some so called fans in the main stand (men in there 60’s who should know better) comments acting like little kids because things weren’t going for us today. I could see the disappointment on the gaffers faces when they hear these comments. I shook my head too ....

did laugh at Unders (lip read what he said) to their player with the beard who didn’t attempt to catch the ball when dan threw it back to him to stop time wasting).

my only disappointment today, is we had nearly 900 fans there and it wasn’t our best day at the office in a while. I hope they come back.

Very frustrating not only the result but we could have given ourselves a nice cushion from the chasing pack. Oxford City did their homework on us but it’s still bitter to lose twice to a mid table side. As mentioned we got a decent crowd in (884) and unfortunately we couldn’t give any newbies the performance and result to get them panting for more. But we stay 2nd so it could have been worse.

Wellsy was struggling with the effects of flu, hence why he came off, he was really struggling, and went in to get warm and stay out the way.

Disappointed obviously with the result today, but more disappointed to hear apparently that some Rebel fans were making "unhelpful" comments in the main stand.

Really ?

I wasn't watching the game from this area so don't know what happened, but if it did...………………………..Really ?

We have recently had 2 promotions, 2 amazing Cup runs and currently stand 2nd in The National League South.

What have people  got to complain about ?

What good do they think negative comments are going to achieve ?

Words fail me.

Today was one of those day's when we could have been playing til midnight and still not have scored.

We didn't play well by any stretch of the imagination but I really think we struggle to cope with the way Oxford play the game.

By that I mean when we had the ball they worked really hard to close us down quickly to stop us playing and when they had possession they had 2 or 3 options to pass the ball without any great pressure from us.

Goal scoring opportunities were few and far between for both sides but in general play I was impressed with Oxford's passing game, movement and work rate and on the day I think they were just that bit better than us.

Of course you're right, there is no excuse for any nasty/unhelpful comments especially if they are old enough to know better.

Unfortunately it's a fact of life that you will always get some childish idiots in any crowd.

Can't be helped. He played well in the first half considering that. Unfortunately his replacement, Sean Fraser who is normally a little terrier, seemed to put in an out of character mistake ridden performance.
