There arent many teams in our league who have amassed more  wins/points away from home than at home

H&R is one of them

They didn't  do well at the early part of the season but are an improving team in recent weeks  So another hard game in prospect  but if we can play near our best we wont leave pointless imo

We were fortunate to only be 1 down at half time, and the card happy ref was being fooled by their constant screaming and diving.  But the start of the second half was completely different, an excellent direct free kick through the wall by Ben followed by an overhead kick from Wellsy, then a missed pen by Ben and it looked set for a big score. Somehow though H&R found a way back in it but our defence held firm. Massive 3 pts, and once again a vociferous following throughout from the fans.

Hi all,

Apologies for the intrusion.  I was a neutral at the match today and put together this match report, with some photos I took from pitchside.  If you're interested, you'll find it at the link below.  I also carried an interview with Lee Togwell post-match, where he spoke about Slough's aims for the remainder of the season - if you want to listen it will go out in this week's NLFullTime podcast on Sunday.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

What a fabulous save from Jack standing behind in line of the player who took the shot wow and it must of been  Jack.s only real save in the game. Tremendous come back by the team after a poor first half.

Good stuff GRTourist. Only thing I would note is that it was Ben Harris not Ryan bird that took the penalty.

Has to be said a poor first half from us.

Hampton were a couple of yards quicker than us on what was a very poor pitch and deservedly went in a goal up.

We came out for the second half fired up and quickly put the Hampton back line under pressure with Ben Harris scoring from an excellent free kick and the prolific George Wells adding to the score sheet with a terrific overhead kick.

The remainder of the game should have been a lot more comfortable but unfortunately a poor penalty from Ben Harris after some excellent work from Matt Lench meant the rest of the game was in the balance.

An excellent win on the night after a determined second half performance from the rebels.

Best player for us IMO was Matt Lench with another all action performance.

Well done GR that’s a great report. Well written, full of info and great representation of the game. Hope to see you at Arbour Park soon.

Reading the match report on the H&R website, their header read:

Don't know if a typo or clever headlining...

A slough start to the second half costs Hampton, as the Rebels take the spoils

Obviously meant to be a clever headline but unfortunately it's not pronounced that way.

Don't know if Bakes and Unders do the hairdryer treatment at halftime but we flew out blocks second half after a poor first half,in a five minute spell we scored two goals and managed to miss a penalty, agree Lenchy MOM performance 7/10.
