Wealdstone v Slough

I consider both sides going 2-0 up at home before winning 2-1 was a fair share of the spoils for and a fair reflection of the two sides. And despite the perfect weather at Grosvenor Vale, the crowd was 18 less than at wet Arbour Park.
Still twenty matches left to play for.

Crowd wise it’ll probably be similar to the attendance we got. You’d hope we’d take at least 200 hopefully nearer 300. I think we need at least a draw to avoid potentially slipping down the table. But I think they’ll play a lot better so we need to be on it and at our best to get something from the game.

Spot on Glen.

I thought their crowd was very subdued given that they are top of the league by some distance and were two up for most of the game. Are they waiting for the financial bubble to burst? The ground will look very out of place in the division above. That said, they were organised but credit to our lads for staying in the game until the final whistle.

There are a number of items on their forum and have been for a few weeks complaining g about the lack of noise and encouragement in general at home games especially as they are league leaders

Also complaints about refreshments lack of tea bar  for several weeks  35 min wait for burgers etc.etc.

As I passed the man with the bucket for the Ground Development Find on my way out, I said to him "I hope you spend it all on the toilets".

I think there was only one tea/food bar open in the whole ground so couldn't be bothered to queue and kept my money in my pocket.

You, me and probably a few hundred others! Very poor organisation to have just 1 food facility? It’s not as if this game was sprung upon them, they knew 4 months ago this would be a large attendance! Plus they would have lost out on several hundreds in lost revenue as fans like myself weren’t prepared to wait for over 30 minutes. Wealdstone have plenty to improve in terms of ground facilities and match day organisation if they got promoted as these crowds could be the norm at the level. A sensible board would spend a bit less on expensive players and more on infrastructure.

That makes it even worse if they knew and didn’t get cover! I would have made up a different excuse as that just sounds pretty tinpot! Unless it was literally last minute you telling me they couldn’t find anyone to assist? Even pay someone as they would have made hundreds in income.

True and this should make us appreciate even more the many volunteers we are blessed with. With the National League more or less a full time division these days, relying solely on volunteers would be very difficult and possibly unsustainable with the expected increase in crowds.
