Wealdstone H 26th Dec

For those who are interested there is a video on the Wealdstone site of their recent fans forum with their manager/owners.

Despite being the leagues top scorers they still think they need another top striker and are on the verge of signing one from one of Brennan's previous clubs and the player is willing to take a 30% wage cut.

Probably a load of old blarney from Brennan but he reckons they currently have 55 players on their radar that they are tracking.

The begging bowl was out with Brennan stating if they need to raise more funds because their players stock is high they will lose some.

I did not know until  I saw a tweet from Bakes that the game kicks  off at 1pm.

Hope this is published where necessary.

I always look at the fixtures list on the Slough Town website. That would seem the obvious place to look to me. Wealdstone (A) on New Year's Day is also a 1 pm kick-off.

Should be easily our biggest gate of the season with Wealdstone expecting to travel in big numbers.

I would certainly hope we can break the 1,200 barrier.

1,783?

As for the game itself.   1st v 2nd.The best attack v the best defence.  A must see game  really I have always favoured a brilliant defence over an excellent attack  No matter how many you score you are guaranteed nothing  but if you dont concede its guaranteed you cant lose Hopefully our edge on Boxing Day  plus our home advantage and hopefully a lot of verbal support from KO onwards

I dont believe we will lose if anywhere near our optimum performance

I don’t think anyone expects us to challenge for top spot but now we’re second I really want us to try and grab 2nd or 3rd place given the obvious advantages. So it’s vital over these 3 Xmas games to get a minimum of 4 points, ideally 5 or 6 but knowing our team it could be all 9!

No pressure then  :lol4:

Should be a minimum of 1,000 probably be around 1,200 but would love to see 1,500.

When we played them at Arbour Park a year ago  we were one place ahead of them in the league and had just beaten them 0-3 at their place  but we didn't get a four figure crowd so I'd be pleased with 1100

They were also on a poor run of form at the time, and there was a lot of unrest which meant they did not travel well, it was also the New Years Day and not the Boxing Day game (which I think is always better supported).

Neither of us were in the play offs let alone 2nd and 1st respectively, so for me anything less than 1200 will be a disappointment.

Wealdstone odds to win the title have shortend to 4/6.

Surprising really considering Dean Brennan’s concern about a combination of a surge from Havant, & potentially losing some of his players in January if he doesn’t get an increase in his playing budget.

Havant at 11/4 might actually be the better value bet.

I would love us to get a really massive crowd on Boxing Day, but despite both us & Wealdstone doing much better than last season, neither of us are achieving bigger attendances.

So I would be surprised if the attendance was much bigger than the 1,059 at Wealdstone last year........ unless a lot of Maidenhead fans decide they want to see a match but don’t fancy travelling to Notts County.

Let’s hope Wealdstone do lose some of their better players as it can only benefit our chances. As long as they don’t sign for any of our rivals! Their ground is bit of a mish mash and I’d expect would cost a bit to get upto the next level. Maybe they’re actively hoping some high earners leave if they’re having trouble sustaining the current wage bill?
