Braintree T H 7th December

Yes 5 very tough games including Hampton as they’ve come into good form since they received a large chunk of money (transfer fee add on of a previous player) and have appeared to have invested wisely. Slough on their day could win all 5 but that’s probably unrealistic, I’d be looking to win at Hampton and Wealdstone at home and I’d we got at least draws at the other 3 away I’d be more than happy. If we can still be top 5 after the NYD game then you’d take that... we could also be top!

I wasn’t keen on us then reverting back to a 4-5-1 and coming under pressure & looking nervous for the last 10 minutes (including the added time)..... but it ended with three points so it was the correct decision.

I was puzzled by this comment as I didn’t remember any nerves or pressure and just watched it back on the video.

We played 12 minutes after we scored (with a 4-5-1 shape) and came under no pressure in that time whatsoever.

They had no shots on goal (we had two), not one touch of the ball in our penalty area and we definitely spent longer in their final third than they did in ours. They put 1 cross in to our box that we dealt with comfortably and that was it in 12 minutes!

Our lads were in fact completely professional in seeing out the game and showed no nerves in doing so.

Apologies then Jon...... it was obviously me that was nervous about holding on to the lead then, and relieved when the final whistle went.

Those end of season predictions are based on all the results  since day 1 and nothing else  The only time they are substantially accurate is in the last few weeks when its almost over  They aren't  reliable imo at this stage of the season

For example the prediction that HH will beat us doesn't  consider that HH last 4 league game results are L3 D1

And the prediction that H&W will beat us doesn't consider H&Ws  current injury list

I'd love to know what they are basing their prediction on.

Probably when we are away comparing our away record with that of the home team, and when we are at home comparing our home record with the oppositions away record.

Our away record of W4 D1 L3 is similar to Hampton 4-1-4, Havant 5-3-2 & Hemel 5-1-2, & no where near as good as Wealdstone 7-0-1....... so the form book over the season so far would probably say 2 or 3 points from those four matches.

Also of course we started badly  2 /15 points from first five games  but the 14 games since then have  resulted in 35 points a loss of just 7  That's remarkable imo and shows why the computer prediction are almost certainly inaccurate

As far as I'm aware Havant have 3/4 players on the injury list out of a squad of somewhere around 25.
