If Braintree want to "mix it" than we need Ben Harris on from the start to er.."earn" a penalty or two....

In which box ! ha ha!

I haven't seen a Slough game for awhile,so don't know who is in form and who is not but I can see why you would plumb for Ben Harris for this one. I think I would start with Francis and Ben up front first half just to mix it up a bit, and look to bring Dan and Manny on in the second half [seperately or together].

Stand to be corrected but cannot remember Nis playing at full back this season or in fact the last time he played in that position.

May have played right back in the friendly against Aldershot, but cannot ever remember him playing at left back.

George Borg won the Isthmian League title with Braintree in the 2005/6. We won 2-1 at home early in the season and lost the away game 2 - 1 in April goal scored by a certain Harris Glen. Come on Ben and Warren if picked carry on the tradition.

Braintree’s recently appointment joint/assistant manager (can’t remember which) has left the club, or more likely couldn’t work with old Borgy! Also it seems one of their better players (Banton) has left to join his boyhood dream club Romford...

Being his boyhood dream club I'd imagine he'd be quite happy to play for expenses only  ?

As I've said before 1-0 or 5-0 it's still 3 points with Wealdstone drawing and Weymouth losing  its beginning to tighten up and we are back to second!

According to Braintrees social media it was very one sided 20 on target shots and 11 corners to us and just 1 of each to them!

It's a good job we always raise our game for the better performing teams  with our next 5 games against teams 1stx2 3rd 7th and 9th

We totally dominated the game. It was basically attack vs defence. Their keeper was MOTM and it looked like it was going to be one of those days with the nagging fear that if they actually mustered a shot on target they might actually score it and win the game.

We kept plugging away and made attacking changes to try and make a break through. Just as Birdy was about to come on for the final change Francis dazzled the defence with ten step overs and helped create a winner for Lenchy.

Thoroughly deserved three points from a very commanding performance. COYR

It was very funny when they took a free kick and the guy passed it out to the touchline in front of Borg but the intended recipient wasn't actually on the pitch as he hadn't been let back on after treatment!

It was our best performance for a while.... we created lots of goal scoring opportunities, and credit to our Managers for being extremely positive and making the two attacking substitutions and changing to a 4-4-2 which resulted in Dan & Francis combining in the move that resulted in a tap in for Lench.

I wasn’t keen on us then reverting back to a 4-5-1 and coming under pressure & looking nervous for the last 10 minutes (including the added time)..... but it ended with three points so it was the correct decision.

Well done to the players for keeping up the effort and pressure to eventually get the breakthrough they deserved.

Have to say I thought it was not going to be our day again with no goals to show for a totally dominant performance from start to finish.

Yes, it probably was out best performance possession wise but, not wishing to put a damper on it, against the better sides we've got to be more clinical and put our chances away.

Overall a very pleasing win that keeps us right in the mix.

Onto a massive game and test on Wednesday.

COYR!!!
