Tonbridge Angels H 30th November

Of course all supporters want us to shake of the disappointment of the Trophy games and continue our excellent league run with another win

A few weeks ago Tonbridge were bottom and on a poor run but have recruited recently and improved a lot 2 wins and 2 draws in last 4 games

We will need to be on good form and with Lady Luck  playing on our side in order to get all 3 points imo.

One positive for us is that despite a recent improvement Tonbridge are still one of the basement teams  with a total  of 17 points  Points at home 16 points away from home all season 1

Positive?

Great to try to put a positive spin on it but playing against a team that are improving rapidly and fighting to get away from the drop zone is hardly a positive.

The facts are we have the best home record and they have the worst away record (by far). 1 point from a possible 21 is relegation form. Yes they’ve improved recently but they are extremely poor away from home. I’m sure we’d see a reaction to Tuesday’s disappointing defeat but if we’re serious about staying in 2nd we certainly have to win these types of games and I’m confident although tough we’ll have enough to win. Now what will the crowd be I wonder... ?

Positive ?  Absolutely!  All their recent improved results have occurred

at home absolutely no improvement away from home at all  as Glen says worst away record in the league

Over the course of the season of course they have a poor record especially away from home that is why thus far they have been at or towards the bottom of the division.

I'm all for being positive but lets not start quoting their away record from the start of the season as a reason for us to win tomorrow.

Their recent form suggests that they are an improving side and will be a tough nut to crack tomorrow regardless of their away form from previous games.

Mark, you are doing a fantastic job and I hope all your efforts are rewarded tomorrow with a decent crowd ?

I am back from holiday now and well again, Jon. But I have a reasonable excuse for not being at the Tonbridge Angels ... a friend takes me to Tottenham once a season and chose Tottenham Hotspur v AFC Bournemouth this season. From the Braintree Town match onwards, I should be seen at Slough Town matches regularly again.

I'm quoting their away record up to KO tomorrow  that's what's relevant We are second in the table because of our excellent record all season not because of a handful of games I think we'll  have to differ on this  we will know the result soon enough

If the crowd is in the low 700s I won't need a barber for the head shave I'll have torn all my own hair out!

We've worked very hard to promote the game around town and I'd like between 800-1000. Fingers crossed!

Mark

Yes let's hope all the hard work translates into an excellent crowd I've looked at a couple of the weather sites and none are predicting either rain at match time or  a very low temperature so fingers crossed
