littlehampton
After securing an excellent away point at Kingstonian last night, Town switch focus this weekend to the FA Trophy, when we host Maldon & Tiptree at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium on Saturday. KO. 3.00pm. The Jammers, who play in the Isthmian League Division One North, are having a great season. Unbeaten in the league, and going great guns in the FA Cup and FA Trophy. Their recent results include an FA Cup win at Leyton Orient, and a 4-3 extra time home win against Folkestone in the FA Trophy. So, they come to us with a very good track record, and our players will need to deliver a top quality performance to beat them, in what is sure to be a thrilling cup-tie, in front of a decent size crowd. This will be a great occasion for fans of both clubs, and Town will be looking to make home advantage count. As you may be aware, it has recently been announced that Maldon's FA Cup second round match will be shown live on BBC2 next Friday 29 November at 19.55pm. The Jammers will make a cool 75,000 pounds from the transmission. Wow! We wish them the very best of luck in that match. It could be the perfect time to play the Jammers on Saturday, six days before their FA Cup match. They've already made a lot of money from their cup run, and stand to make a pile more if they make it through to the next round. They will want to field their strongest possible XI in the televised FA Cup match, so will be hoping to avoid serious knocks or injuries to key players this Saturday against Town. Let's have a big turnout on Saturday to support the Town and show plenty of Enfield pride and passion in this important cup-tie. Arrive early, have a drink, and watch the West Ham - Spurs match in the bar before the main event! Good luck everyone. See you there! Wildlife rescue
We also could be down to bear bones Sat with injuries to Ryan and Sam. Let's hope the skipper recovers from his knock last night. COYT.
littlehampton
Hi WR, from a personal perspective I think we have a good, strong squad of players this season, who are blending well as a team, and I believe we all might be pleasantly surprised by our team line-up tomorrow. Don't know about us being down to " bear bones ", but I do hope all our supporters are there in numbers for this FA Trophy match, to get behind our team, and create a ' bear pit ' atmosphere throughout the game, to drive our players on and produce the win we need to be in the FA Trophy next round draw on Monday. littlehampton
What a match, what a result! This was the game everyone was looking forward to, and on a damp, cold, miserable afternoon, it did not disappoint. This was a cup-tie that had everything, and this match, between two very good sides, will stay in peoples memory for a long time, as one of the best games of the season. Town had to play well to win this game, and play well they did! This was the Jammers first defeat of the season, and it was not difficult to see why. They are a young, talented, hardworking side, who use the ball well, break quickly, and always look dangerous near goal. They play Newport County at home in their BBC2 televised match on Friday, and if they play on Friday, as well as they did yesterday, they will have a very good chance of progressing. Very best of luck to them, we wish them well! Great credit to Andy Leese, his football management team, and our players on this superb win, which sees us through to the FA Trophy first round proper draw tomorrow for the first time. Fingers crossed for a nice home tie! Shame we didn't get a larger crowd yesterday, but very well done to all our supporters behind the goal, who made a lot of noise and really got behind the team. Great support, well done guys!
Wildlife rescue
Great game what an advert for football at our level also a big shout out to the female referee,I thought she was superb and probably the best we have had at the QE2 this season Hope she gets the opportunity to return and officiate a league match Great noise from the ultras but why all the anti Barnet chanting.!!!! The players respond when they hear there names being sung as does the team when they hear the Towner chants. All in All a brilliant afternoon COYT
