Beleaguered Karen just can't win can she, there is no FA Cup or FA Vase action this weekend however her nemesis Phil Annets is still on this week's other Non League Show. Kevin Phillips is a good listen, the new supremo at South Shields, and one of his former Club's Baldock Town get a brief mention:

https://audioboom.com/posts/8016521-21st-january-2022-south-shields-factas-wroxham?playlist_direction=forward

He won the European Golden Boot and England caps and now he's hoping to win his first game as a manager. Kevin Phillips has been unveiled this week as the new gaffer at ambitious South Shields in the Northern Premier League. In at the deep end with a tough away trip this weekend, he's enjoying the whirlwind of busy-ness that is non league management.
Celebrating the best of non league contributions to the FA Cup the FACTAs are the first set of big awards this season in the non league world. @FACupFactfile Phil Annets who the winners are in the four categories this year.
As a Chairman of a Step 5 club, life is never easy or full of praise but this  weekend Lee Robson will be in full fan mode at Wroxham - including lucky tie and socks - as he hopes his side can one, finally play a game for the first time in 5 weeks, and better still progress to the last 16 of the FA Vase.
Editor at Large Matt Badcock is the man on hand this week to help with the Non League Paper preview and review of the week's news.

No amazing statistician Phil Annets on this week's other Non League Show so no doubt Karen will be switching on:

The Non League Football Show / 28th January 2022 - Dorking Wanderers and England C (audioboom.com)

In busy week in non league football - rounded up at the end of the show by David Richardson of the Non League Paper, we return to some old friends of the show.
First up he's the founder, owner, Chairman and Manager of Dorking Wanderers and often forthright with his opinions. Marc White is also a winner on and off the field and he offers some enlightening insight into what drives him and what drives the every growing machine that is Dorking Wanderers FC as they try to once again reach the National League.
Our second guest is Mick Payne. A long-time contributor to this show and many others, he has been England C's goalkeeping coach for longer than he can remember and he is again as the England Non League set-up prepare for a game in Wales at the end of March. Hear tales of why the set-up needs to continue and given an opportunity to develop.

No doubt Karen would have been praying that no Non League Club's came through to the FA Cup Fourth Round this weekend but sadly for her Boreham Wood and Kidderminster did so following excellent wins over AFC Wimbledon and Reading respectively. As a result her nemesis Phil Annets is on today's other Non League Show previewing the two ties with Boreham Wood visiting Bournemouth on Sunday and Kidderminster entertaining West Ham tomorrow:

The Non League Football Show / 04th February 2022 - FA Cup 4th Rd, Kidderminster Harriers, Billingham Synthonia (audioboom.com)

It's FA Cup Fourth Round and Tim Fuell speaks with @FACupFactfile Phil Annets for some stats ahead of the two non league sides Boreham Wood and Kidderminster Harriers taking part.
Talking of Kiddy it's been a busy old season, none more so than this week as they prepare for Match of the Day and the visit of Premier League West Ham United. We speak with Media and Comms officer at the club Luke Thompson to get an unusual insight into the workings of non league clubs in their busiest times.
At the other end of the scale, the very existence of Billingham Synthonia is at stake in their 99th year since being formed. With the main source of income having been withdrawn Assistant Manager Dean Irvine and the committee are having to come up with Plan B, C, D and beyond to try to ensure the club can continue. A JustGiving site has proven popular early on but they still more if they are to see 100 and beyond.
In a busy week of player and managerial moves Matt Badcock Editor at Large of The Non League Paper is one hand also offering his preview of what we can read in this weekend's paper.

First up Ken Beattie the Chairman at Morpeth Town of the Northern Premier League. They've already beaten higher-level opposition this season and hope to provide a cupset at York City this weekend.
Phil Annets is back with us wearing his @FAVaseFactfile hat to give us some insight into the 8 ties in the Step 5 & Step 6 competition this weekend.
One of those ties involves village side Brockenhurst Town, challenging for promotion in the Wessex Premier League managed by long-term manager Pat McManus who feels things may just be coming together at the right time.

This afternoon's BBC Three Counties Radio Non League Show should be a good listen, it features obviously 'standing dish' Boreham Wood but also Royston Town, Newport Pagnell Town, Long Crendon and Stotfold as well as yesterday's FA Vase and FA Trophy ties, the Football Supporters Association (FSA), Women's FootbaII and author Aaron Moore who publishes an interesting looking book tomorrow entitled 'Fields of Dreams and Broken Fences' (see below). Fill your boots at 2.00pm:

The Non-League Show - FA Trophy, FA Vase and Women's Football - BBC Sounds

Fields of Dreams and Broken Fences is written for the love of the game. Delving into the little-known world of non-league football, it takes you to various clubs at various levels of the National League System, from trying to survive at step five to battling to get back into the Football League, from Hashtag United to Notts County. Aaron Moore has written extensively about non-league football. After a brief spell at Haringey Borough, he joined Walthamstow and Harlow Town Ladies, covering both sides on a matchday while also writing about the lower leagues on his blog, footballreview.net. He has also written for various newspapers including the Non-League Paper, the Epping Forest Guardian and YourHarlow. This is his first book.

Today's other Non League Show:

The Non League Football Show / 18th February 2022 - Maidstone United, Worthing & Ashford United (audioboom.com)

A manager, an owner and a mascot go into a non league football podcast!
Hakan Hayrettin is preparing for his second placed National South side to face third and first placed promotion rivals this week but he'd not worried. He tells Tim Fuell how he's matured over his many years of experience and why he thinks his club are ready for any challenge.
He saved Worthing from oblivion and now his five year plan - allowing for the two lost due to COVID curtailments  - to get promotion to Step 2 may be just about to come true. Owner George Dowell sees his side top of the Isthmian Premier clear on points and with a game in hand, they face second, third and fourth placed sides in the coming weeks and could very soon have reason to celebrate big.
Celebrating a new arrival at Ashford United is Faye Hackwell. The mascot expert led her club's hunt for a new mascot. The new design, made locally and created from the imagination of a local 11 year old schoolgirl, made his debut last week in an emphatic home win.
Matt Badcock Editor at Large at The Non League Paper helps round up the show and the week's news whilst previewing this weekend's paper.

The Non League Football Show / 25th February 2022 - Bracknell Town, Non League Day, FA Cup 5 (audioboom.com)

Tim Fuell welcomes back some old friends of the show as we celebrate the best in non league.
First up Bobby Wilkinson on making progress on and off the field with his project at Bracknell Town. Leading scorers, meanest defence and clear leaders in the Isthmian South Central Division at Step 4, they are eyeing up Step 3 but taking each game as it comes.
James Doe came up with the idea for Non League Day and after two years without due to the pandemic is looking forward to celebrating the 11th edition in a month's time. Hear how your club could get involved and why Non League Day has already proven a difference to our level of football.
Our level of football is represented next week in the final 16 of the FA Cup by Boreham Wood. @FACupFactFile Phil Annets is on hand to help with the stats, facts and possibilities for them and the other clubs involved in the 8 midweek ties.
