Concord Rangers A 23rd Nov FA Trophy

I  cant see any other result than a Rebels win  Neil&Jon have made their intention to have a long Trophy run this season well known and imo this is an excellent game to commence with

Yes they beat us back in early August but Concord have played 16 games since then

P16 W3 D3 L10

Their last 9 games reflect the continuing deterioration of their form/ results

P9 W1 D1 L7

Our excellent form and results are well known to us all   and whilst most rounds of cup ties produce the odd shock result  I'm sure this wont be one

Just for Glennie  :lol4:

Concord are a team that on their day can beat anyone or lose to anyone.

Some dangerous players not least 6'4'' striker Joel Nouble who on his day is virtually unplayable and a match winner.

Needless to say on a poor playing surface I expect a tough close fought game with the Rebels coming out on top and into the next round.

It has to be good that we are still in the Trophy and we get a second go at Arbour park   Concord now have 3wins in 17 so must be very pleased with their efforts today against the second club on an excellent run

Still cup matches often throw up surprise results

Who'd  have seen Wealdstone 2 Royston 3 coming?

In view of our recent forum discussion concerning the attendances at midweek matches it will be interesting to see how many attend this very important replay

In all honesty I don't think you can compare next weeks replay with a midweek league game against a good side.

Yes, I think there will be a reasonably good attendance especially if we get the incentive of a good draw for the next round but tempered by the fact that it's all pay and it's champions league night on the box.

I really dont see how any team who we must beat to progress in the only major cup we are still involved in can be "unattractive" I also think it's sad that season ticket holders who have already enjoyed a huge discount are reluctant to pay for cup ties

To me an attractive game is against any local or big side. Concord and many others in the round aren’t so certainly to the casual fan it’s probably not going to draw them to the replay is it? As we all know midweek attendances are less than Saturday games and when there’s other factors it’s unfortunately not going to be great crowd but obviously it’s important we win to then have the opportunity of playing a bigger club in later rounds.

On the game itself, it wasn't a good game to watch by any stretch of the imagination probably down to the conditions.

We missed a penalty first half but I think Concord had the better chances so I'd say were the better side.

Second half it was all Concord and they really should have put away one of the several good chances they created.

On the positive side our players gave their usual 100% effort and commitment, kept a clean sheet and have another chance to put things right on Tuesday.

We don’t have a great away record at Concord Rangers but luckily have a 100% win rate at home! Of course it’ll be another tight game but I would hope with home/pitch/support advantage will be another to see us through. Just a little concerning with squad avability and any further injuries could really hurt us.

As uninspiring a match as the ground is. Couldn't wait for game to end really and quite happy to get replay

If we score the penalty who knows what happens but after an ok 1st half we didn't muster much at all 2nd half. Not for lack of effort but we struggled to get much passing going as the game wore on

The chance they blazed over from yards out should have ended us so relieved to live another day. Hopefully we can show what we're capable of in replay and get through

Even the porta-cabin toilets were falling apart.

The place really is a dump.

With due respect Adrian, that's why, especially in cup games, stats are pretty meaningless.
