Two pitch inspections this morning at 10.00 and 10.30 respectively however hopefully they are just precautionary as there has been no further rain today

I see two Leverstock Green players received their marching orders albeit late on with the score already 3-0

An exciting game at Elmfields Gate yesterday, with the score 1-1 deep into stoppage time Winslow United's Simon King netted just as the referee was putting the whistle to his lips:

Stingray from another Forum was at this one yesterday:

South Midlands Division 1
LANGFORD 0-1 ST. PANTELEIMON
Admission & Prog £6.00 Tea, Coffee £1.00 each
Attendance h/c peaked at 55

All was calm for the majority of the first half, then the "family" with Pebbles the dog in tow turned up and the second half was played out to a cacophony of screaming brats who like the sounds of their own voices and ensured that any future visits I make will be in midweek.

On the pitch, this appeared to be an away banker. St. Panteleimon have moved through the local and county leagues like a dose of salts and proudly sit at the top of the table, unbeaten thus far. However they came up against some pretty stiff opposition in Langford and despite having the majority of the possession found their efforts go high, wide or easily dealt with. Eventually they did manage to make the breakthrough during the second half while I was in the clubhouse waiting for the new tea bag to do its job.

Milton Keynes Robins 4 Brimsdown 3

A groundhopper from another Forum was at this one yesterday:

Milton Keynes Robin's 4 - 3 Brimsdown (HT 1 - 1)
Manor Fields, Buckinghamshire
Spartan South Midlands League Division 1 (step 6)
Admission £5/2.50
No programme
Tea £1
Attendance 43

The entrance sign to the ground calls itself Bletchley....there is a very narrow bridge at the entrance road, meaning a one vehicle passing point. The car park is ample with the odd pot hole. The football pitch itself is to the right of The MK Irish Centre. A small hut serves instead of a turnstile. A welcome cup of tea at the hatch was had, the bar was open in the Irish centre but I didn't go inside.

The game itself was entertaining. Both team benches expressed their annoyance at some of the refereeing decisions....quite loudly. This continued into the second half...by which time both teams were also berating the referee and linesmen ...I'm really not sure how at least 3 players were not sin binned for dissent!!! Towards the end of the second half with the score at 3-2 (to the hosts) a foul, which really should have been a red was awarded a yellow card from the ref.... cue.... the spectators also getting quite vocal ...towards the end MK Robins were trying their best to keep hold of possession, in order to keep the potential 3 points.... 2 more goals were scored before the final whistle was finally blown at after 5pm.....

Adding to the whole enjoyment was one gentleman who brought his trombone....occasional interludes of trombone playing followed each and every goal....or near miss.

King to the rescue again. He’s won more than his fair share of points over the past few seasons.

A massive away win for Hillingdon Brourgh yesterday and I see the ex Southall and Chalfont St Peter full back Billy Fraser is now playing for them. On his day he is a very good player.

Shefford Town & Campton 0 New Salamis 1

A groundhopper from another Forum was at this one on Saturday, results don't seem to have been affected too much by George Georgiou's departure do they although it has still left a very sour taste in the mouth:

Shefford Town & Campton 0 - 1 New Salamis
SSML Div 1
Admission £5; prog free

An interesting looking fixture with both sides starting the season well after moving up a level.
A nice new(ish) facility here. Shame about the hundreds of pot holes that litter the access road and car park.... Admission was paid from the car on entering the car park which was quite large.
Certainly saw some neat football from both sides, but with little real attacking threat or goalmouth excitement. Salamis probably had the best of the first half, and went ahead right on half time.
HT 0-1
The second half followed a similar pattern. Towards the end, Salamis tried to play time out to some extent, and almost paid for that. Town stepped up a gear and got their golden chance with 5 mins or so to go, the player clean through did nearly everything right, beating the keeper with the outside of his foot, but the ball struck the outside of the post.
Another effort was put into the net but disallowed for offside.
So Salamis just held out to take the points.
