I gather that this is the only game called off so far today involving SSML Club's, most of the rain lately appears to have been in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire going by the flooding. Here's the match programme anyway which already had a 'meet the new management' article:

Another year another underachievement in the county cup.

Winslow Boy - Yes, very disappointing, an 89th minute penalty and then Kieron Schmidt received his marching orders:

Stingray from another Forum was at this one yesterday:

South Midlands Premier
CRAWLEY GREEN 2-1 HAREFIELD UNITED
Admission £6.00 Prog online but not that bothered as I'm running short on space Tea, Coffee £1.00 each
Attendance - not given, but not that many and all under cover

A goal in each half for the homesters was enough to win this. After the second, the Hares finally woke up and pulled one back within a minute and had what they thought was the equaliser chalked off but they were too slow out of the starting blocks.

You could tell this was an artificial pitch by the kits which at the end looked as fresh and clean as they did at the start - a sharp contrast to my new-ish trainers

Division One

Shefford Town & Campton 4 Hillingdon Borough 1

An groundhopper from another Forum was at this one:

Shefford and Campton 4 Hillingdon Borough 1 South Midlands League Division 1
Admission £5/£2.50
Programme- free with entry.
Tea £1
h/c 46
The rain began to pour down as my Dad and I pulled into the car park. There is plenty of parking at the ground and the clubhouse is behind the goal. It's large but strangely short of seating. A burger bar provides hot drinks and food and the only cover is a small stepped terrace for around 50 people. The pitch has a post and rail round it and the dugouts are on the far side. The game kicked off at a frantic pace. The visitors scored after 4 minutes and the home side scored after 10 minutes. From then on it was end to end football with the goalkeepers making good saves and there was great defending. The half time score was 1-1.
The second half saw the rain lash down harder and the wind began to get up. Both teams had spells when they looked like scoring but Shefford took the lead on 63 minutes. Two further goals saw them win 4-1 but the scoreline was rather harsh on the visitors who played their part in an excellent game. It was nice to chat briefly to a fellow poster on this site. The journey home through heavy rain wasn't much fun, but I arrived home safely. I should add that apparently Shefford have very few games called off as their pitch is well drained.

People were not happy with the penalty decision, I imagine that’s what lead to Kieron’s red card. I’m told we just didn’t play well at all.

I see Berkhamsted Raiders got back to winning ways on Saturday, I wonder what would have happened though if Aston Clinton's Billy Harrison hadn't received his marching orders mid way through the second half with the score locked at 3-3 and with Aston Clinton on top having come back from 3-1 down at the interval

Colney Heath still looking like favourites but with 9 games for them in November consistency may be a challenge.

Looking at their upcoming league fixtures they are all very winnable. Will be interesting to see what position they are in when they go to Newport on 10th December.

Keeping Jon Clements fit will be key. I played against him in a Sunday league game recently and he seems to be able to find the bottom corner from anywhere in the box
