To put it incredibly bluntly, this’ll be our last game. A number of our fans have been told we’ll fold next week (more on that in a second) due to an unpaid tax bill

Doesn’t appear to be the case, the Court action is against the old company that owned Chelmsford City Football Club.

All clarified by a statement on their web-site:-

‘Winding Up Order
As some of you will have seen a Winding Up order has been issued by HMRC for The Supporters of Chelmsford City Football Club.
I have been liaising with HMRC for some time now to resolve an old payment issue and gradually reducing the amount outstanding however HMRC started action and, despite making regular payments, has been reluctant to cease the proceedings. Consequently there is a hearing at the High Court on Wednesday at which the Club will be represented and will do whatever is necessary to prevent the winding-up order being executed.
The winding up order is against the old club The Supporters of Chelmsford City Football Club (“TSOCCFC”) which the intention will be to voluntarily wind-up as it is no longer trading.
The transfer of membership to Chelmsford City Football Club Limited was completed some time ago but I have been waiting to agree the transfer of shares etc for old members of TSOCCFC before fully communicating; this issue has crystallised the need to do this.’

Great result today I said we would  edge it but to be honest it was tougher than I expected

The great news is that we are now second in the table and with Wealdstone dropping home points the gap is just 7 Hemel also lost points today

Maybe those tiresome playoffs wont be necessary!

Great to get the win but their goal (soon after where we could have made it 3-0) really made it difficult for us second half and had they had their shooting boots on they would have won. Another hard fought victory and I’d take that over performance any day. Disappointing crowd of 731 considering Chelmsford must have brought at least 80 meaning around 650 Slough fans. For the run we’re on we really should be getting in the 800’s on a regular basis?

A great result, which was unexpected considering our injuries, player shuffling, and formation change.

From the moment they made it 2-1 we seemed to stop passing and lookedlike we were just trying to hold on, made for a very long second half.

No one can have any complaints about the heady heights of second place.

Just watched Jon's post match interview and I'm a bit concerned with that large pinkish circle of skin just above his forehead!  Has he burnt it somehow?

Great position to be in but lets not get too carried away, it's way too early to even think about winning the thing.

Considering we were struggling with injuries/availability to some key players this was a true test of character and in the end the lads put in a real shift to gain another excellent 3 points.

Again not a classic but to go in at half time 2 goals to the good was very pleasing to say the least.

We came out for the second half and after nearly making it 3-0 we proceeded to concede a goal that was probably one of the softest/poorest you are likely to see this season which put us under pressure and on the back foot for a large part of the second half.

The team deserve all the credit for another battling performance to come away with the points that puts us up to a well deserved second place.

COYR!!!!!!!!

Just listened to the Chelmsford managers post match interview.

His view is that Chelmsford dominated the game which I think is pushing it a bit too far.

Whilst I would agree they did have the majority of the possession I certainly wouldn't go as far as to say that they dominated the game.

He also reckons our first goal was an own goal so It'll be interesting to see the highlights.

I found it a strange interview.

Rod Stringer said that Chelmsford City "could have scored more than ten goals". But there are no easy matches in this division.
He was hardly concise in his interview with rambling replies of 5 minutes 47 seconds to his first question and 3 minutes 30 seconds to his second.

But before being appointed Chelmsford City manager on 17th. May 2016, he had won the title in this division with Braintree Town.

The Non League Paper implies that Ben's first goal yesterday was scored from his hand and not his head.

From where I was sitting in the stand on the half way line it appeared to be a clean header, can anyone else shed further light on the matter?

From behind the goal it was an obvious handball, practically punched it into the net.

If you want a good chuckle today , watch the highlights with the sub titles on. Whatever Ade’s qualities as an audio commentator his diction doesn’t quite hit the mark for converting into text! Some real gems in there.

On the game , the Chelmsford manager must know these things even out over a season. For us this was payback for Hungerford where we should have won.

That block at the end was all the more spectacular in that if Scott Davies hadn’t got it , Fraser, Wells and finally Bird were all there in back-up.
