West Hertfordshire St Mary's Cup - 2019/20

No problems in the end for a young Leverstock Green side who triumphed 3-1 with goals from James Hall on 17 minutes, Ethan Flanaghan on 20 minutes and an Ollie Lawford penalty on 75 minutes where he clinically dispatched the ball to the goalkeepers left. Berkhamsted Raiders were briefly back in the game just after the break on 48 minutes but it's the Pancake Lane Club who progress to the Semi Final where they will host Tring Athletic.

It's a big week for Bovingdon who travel to Oxhey Jets on Tuesday for their West Herts St Mary's Cup Quarter Final and then entertain Letchworth Garden City Eagles on Saturday in an Anagram Records Trophy Quarter Final tie:

Unfortunately the West Herts St Mary's Cup Quarter Final this evening between Oxhey Jets and Bovingdon has been called off due to some heavy over night rain, they will try again next Tuesday:

It goes without saying that Tuesday's West Herts St Mary's Cup Quarter Final between Oxhey Jets and Bovingdon is off and presumably the Leverstock Green v Tring Athletic Semi Final is in doubt on Thursday 26 March unless the present situation changes quickly:

Would like to see Oxhey Jets win this Cup but the way things are going I cant see anyone winning it this season or any of the other Cups if I'm honest

Savagebee - Oxhey Jets were very unlucky in last season's West Herts St Mary's Cup Final against Berkhamsted losing 1-0, here are some YouTube highlights from the first half of that game played at Hemel Hempstead FC. Why did you want to see them win it out of interest, is it because they deserved to last season, I think what cost them was having Henry Marku needlessly sent off midway through the second half for abusive language just after Berkhamsted had scored, that made all the difference against higher opposition as up until then Oxhey Jets were the better side:

Just have a soft spot for the club and ground and a lot of there former players that I have met over the years have been nice guys.
