An interesting interview with Aston Clinton's front man Lamar Mason-Williams ahead of their Division Two Cup First Round visit to the Orbital Fasteners Stadium tomorrow:

I agree that this is arguably the game of the day and MK Gallacticos would top the Division 2 table tomorrow evening with victory:

Be interesting to see where Newport Pagnell get their goals from now formed Northampton Utd striker Leon Lobjolt has left by mutual consent. He’s scored a lot already this season.

Good win against a dangerous MK Gallacticos with a couple of Step 3/4 dual registered players today.

We weren’t great first half and Gallacticos caused us problems without really having any clear chances.

2nd half we were better team by far, but against some resolute defending struggled to score. Finally it was a set piece goal which was the difference.

a good game against a strong side. A shame that once again the away showers were damaged ?

Oh dear North Greenford United are in real trouble.

They have had loads of different managers over the last 15 years. In my opinion Danny Vincent has been the best manager that the club has had in recent seasons.

from another Forum:

Arlesey Town 0 - 1 Potton United
SSML Premier Div
Admission £7; prog free, online only

It's ten years since my only other visit here. It's a decent ground with a nice long covered side terrace to watch the game from - half covered with seats, presumably something to do with ground grading requirements for the Southern League. Liked the high terrace behind one goal too. Nice large car park here.

A bottom-third fixture, but both teams had scored 4 midweek, so hoped for a good game. The home side looked much the better side in the first half, but it was Potton who lead at half time through a fairly soft penalty - one of those where the ball is drilled straight at a close defender and the ref deemed his arm was in an unnatural position.

Potton improved for the second half, and looked more likely to increase their lead, but it was not to be and the pen decided the points.

DIVISION ONE

Langford 4 Ampthill Town 1

Another view from another Forum at Forde Park yesterday, the score was 4-1 though wasn't it, not 4-2, unless Karen is wrong :wink(2)::

Spartan South Midland Div 1
Langford 4-2 Ampthill Town
Adm inc prog £6, tea £1, att peaked at ~80ish

I let the train take the strain to Arlesey and then had a pleasant 30 minute walk along a footpath which emerges by the church in the middle of Henlow, just 10 minutes south of Langford's ground.

Langford had the first chance in the opening seconds, but a few minutes later Ampthill finally got the ball out of their half. And scored. They really should have got a second within the time it took me to text my mate that it wouldn't be the last if Langford keep defending like this, and then 30 seconds later did double their lead. That was as good as it got though, with Langford settling down and a reasonable match ensuing.

Half an hour in a Langford player was clean through and was taken out on the edge of the box. A yellow card was shown, much to the disgruntlement of the home team and supporters. They responded in the best possible way by drilling the ball along the ground into the corner of the net from the free kick. Langford kept up the pressure after the break, and when they equalised with about 25 minutes to go, even the Ampthill fan near me said it had been coming for a while.

They took the lead three minutes later and added some breathing space 15 minutes from time with a diving header from 18 inches off the ground. Ampthill huffed and puffed but only rarely threatened. Their main contribution to the final quarter of the game was a straight red for lashing the ball into a prostrate home player, who was laid out after a crunching tackle which apparently was going to go unpunished beyond the free kick; and a sin-binning for mouthing off about the injustice of the red card.

A small seated stand offset from the half way line meant that the dug outs got in the way a bit. Also a small covered standing unit, otherwise uncovered hard standing. Decent clubhouse dispensing welcome hot drinks.

Leighton Town finally piecing some wins together and I expect them to climb the table now. They have a handful of home games coming up that are all very winnable. North Greenford have been struggling at this level for a few seasons and you’d think this year they will go down. I’d expect Baldock Town to improve at some point as well

Any reason why Lojboit left Newport? He has scored some great goals this season
