V Billericay 12th October H

Let's hope we can put Tuesdays disappointment behind us and improve our league position on Saturday

Billericays recent problems are well known and reflected in recent performances  Their last six games have produced 1 win (against the bottom team) 1 loss and 4 draws  but they've been dire away from home all season winning just once  3 days after the season began

Of course there are no easy games in this league this season but imo reasons to be optimistic

Another tough game to look forward to and what should be a good attendance will all help add to the atmosphere.

We've been in very good form in league and hopefully we'll have recovered fully from Tuesday's disappointment.

Billericay, having had the week off and now under new manager Jamie O'Hara seem to have put their troubles behind them and are unbeaten in 7 games culminating in an excellent 4-2 win against Bath in the FA Cup.

There are certainly reasons to positive of a good result if our recent league form is anything to go by but I think a lot will depend on our recovery both physically and mentally from Tuesday's game.

RR O'Hara was only appointed on 17th Sept and has only been in charge of 1 drawn league game  They had a 1-0 cup victory against a team from the lower reaches and although their victory against  Bath looks impressive Since we beat Bath towards the end of August they have played 7 league games with just 1 win against H&R  If you scroll through all Billericays results since 3/8 they really haven't improved The only reservation I have is that earlier this week OHara was bemoaning the fact that he's  lost several 6foot+ defenders and was hoping to bring a couple in very soon!

Perfect response to Tuesday night. Looking forward to seeing the video of our second goal as that was a lovely team goal. Must admit Billericay weren’t as good as I was expecting although you can see they have some talented players still. Real shame we have a 2 week break until our next match, are there no options to bring forward a game to play next Saturday? With the rain I thought it’ll really affect the attendance and was expecting 8-900, so pleased we got 1,115. Hoping a few are enticed back.

Excellent win anyone who thought our first defeat in a long while might put a few doubts in the squad or damage confidence and self belief needn't  have worried  Absolute determination to get the job done   from the KO    Billericay  will be lucky to finish top half although OHara is promising some notable recruits soon  Third imo isn't flattering we've  played some excellent team football for weeks now and that's better than the teams who have one or two "stars" and little else   Good turn out considering  the weather  Surely some will return after seeing the quality  and style this squad play.

Really pleased with the turnout. We were aiming for 1000-1200, and it makes you wonder what we might have got if the weather was decent. Also good to get a good win and performance against a big side with a big crowd there. Job done.

Another excellent team performance today, difficult to single out any player in particular however I did think that Scott Davies had a good game. He was a presence in midfield, whenever he had the ball he looked to pass it forward, he covered well in defence winning a couple of important balls and was also nearly on the scoresheet.

Billericay had one of the higher number of visiting supporters that we have seen so far this season, they were certainly vocal as well. If the level of their wage bill is as high as it is rumoured to be, it does show that money does not necessarily buy success.

Excellent performance from the players and a thoroughly enjoyable game to watch.

Near perfect first half from us where we were the better side culminating with an excellent team goal finished off by that man Lenchy to give us a vital 2 goal cushion going into the second half.

I thought Billericay started the second half on the front foot and were the better side for about the first 10 minutes putting some pressure on us until we settled into the half to take control again with the 3rd goal from Dan Roberts virtually wrapping the game up for us.

For me Billericay have too many good players not to be in the top half and with a bit of tweaking will be pressing for a play-off place.

Again Matt Lench was outstanding but my MOTM goes to Simon Dunn who put in a real shift today doing a lot of hard graft in midfield for the team.

I was at Twerton Pak for Bath City v Maidstone United. Although overcast, it was dry and not windy so not a bad afternoon for football and the attendance was 1,387. I love Arbour Park but Twerton Park has known much better days. There was no sign of the redevelopment work starting. The planning application was submitted by no further news on the Bath City FC website since 19th. August.

With Maidstone United leading 0-1, I was going to write that as a week is a long time in football, six months one week and six days is an exceedingly long time ... implying that by 25th. April, Maidstone United will have climbed the table! But it turned out that a minute can also be a long time in football as Bath City equalised from the penalty spot in the sixth and final minute of time added on with the referee blowing for full time immediately after the restart. Fourteen points and ten goals for Maidstone United to make up on Wealdstone!

Rebels up to third ... Oh what a day!

Huge credit to our management and players for a very positive response to what could have been a really deflating FA Cup defeat last Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if the early cup exit benefits us by reducing the fixture pile up in the weeks ahead. Obviously, a small fixture pile up caused by a long FA Trophy run would be most welcome but we mustn't be too greedy.

Excellent result and an impressive attendance.

Sutton have Billericay in the FA Cup next weekend. Who are the players we should look out for? Or were they all poor on the day?

After our defeat to you last season I'm sure we will take them very seriously ?

None were really poor, we were just really good! They have a lot of ex-EFL players in their ranks so are a decent side, Sam Deering was pulling the strings in midfield and Jake Robinson is a threat up front. They were missing Oldaker who recently signed from Gillingham and who scored the goal that knocked us out of the FA Cup last season.

Not sure how they afford all this now that Tamplin has pulled out, however, good luck to Sutton.

As MPR said they weren't poor and have some good experienced players but on the day we were at our best and just too good for them.

Just like to add don't give away too many free kicks in front of goal because Jordan Parkes is pretty lethal given a chance.

Good luck.
