FA Cup - Chippenham away 5th October

Presumably a very big match for us due to the prize money available for a good FA Cup run, & the glamorous prospects of progressing and playing bigger clubs in later rounds..... and fortunately coming at a time when we are in great form.

It might still be early in the week, but I can already feel a nervous anticipation building..... must admit I am hoping & possibly even expecting a win, but would happily settle for a draw & a home tie replay.

What are your thoughts?

I’d be happy to be in the hat for the 4th Q draw. It’ll be a tough game of course but we should be full of confidence and I’ll go for a 2-1 win.

Agree that I would probably take a draw and bring them back to Arbour Park on Tuesday evening.......All about being in the hat on Monday

Obviously I hope we can get the job done on Saturday but if it’s to be a replay at least I can be there! Plus we’ll know our potential 4th Q opponents. Reading their forum it appears they have a few players missing and the struggled to fill their bench, let’s hope none return by Saturday! Although no doubt they’ll announce 3 big new signings Friday evening... ?

It is 3 years ago today to the day when we were last knocked out of the F A Cup by a non league side when we lost 3-2 at home to Dartford. 

Obviously we lost to league sides in the last two seasons.

Hopefully this is a statistic which we can extend.

With the next round being on the 19th I would say definitely yes.

Games against Chippenham are nearly always a close affair so certainly not going to be so presumptive to expect a win but we are in good form so I see no reason why we can't be in the hat for the next round.

We last lost an away game on 10th August just a week after the season began and our last 6 NLS games are        WWWWDW very much the league form team and brimming with confidence

Chippenham last six  NLS results.              LLLWDD that lone win against Tonbridge the leagues lowest points scorer

Of course there are always shock results in cup ties and the weather is a bit iffy (mud can be a great leveller) but the balance of probability IMO suggests we will come home already in the next round

As I am going to Hayes & Yeading United v Hendon on Saturday, I would appreciate a replay at Arbour Park.

Are we in our home kit Saturday?

Should we simply play in our home kit at home and away kit when away? It’s seems a bit of a mix and from the away sponsors point of view you’d want maximum coverage and not just used as a change kit?

Surely we will always play in our away kit when not at home unless there's a good reason why we can't.

We will always use the away kit away from home unless a clash of colours, so we will no doubt be in away kit Saturday.
