Hornchurch 4-0 Bishops Stortford

Well as Jago would say "A decent result". For the first 20 minutes or so it was a bit of deja vu as passes went astray or were overhit or intercepted. Odd half chances here and there for both sides but no oogh moments.

Then Jamie Cureton finds something from nowhere and is unlucky to see the ball clip the back of the crossbar. Hornchurch acknowledge the reprieve and get their noses in front a couple of minutes later. Lewwis Spence sends in a corner that is cleared back out to him, the second effort is put to the far post where Matt Johnson ghosts in to score from close range.

It's looking like that will be it for the first 45 until the ball is put over the defence by Joe Christou for Chris Dickson who pops the ball over his defender and then beats the keeper to the ball as it comes back down.

Often in these situations the team in the lead sit back and wait for a chance to counter attack but not this time as Hornchurch are at Stortford from the whistle and it takes just over 10 minutes before Johnson beats the offside trap and hits a shot that Burbidge does well to parry but only into the feet of Dickson who taps into an open goal.

Chances come and go but Joe Wright has very little to do. With 10 to go Dan Uchechi ducks and dives, twists and turns before bending the ball past the keeper only to see it hit the inside of the post and come out again.

Stortford have been struggling to keep hold of the ball and in the final minutes Hornchurch nick the ball again and Uchechi feeds Saunders who despite being in a great position to score himself selflessly squares to Johnson for a tap in.
