Last year’s tie was a little dramatic, we took a first half lead and then despite coming under heavy pressure in the 2nd half managed to get to the 92nd minute before Colney Heath equalised and took the tie to penalties. Where they ran out eventual winners. What last year’s tie done for us was ensure the players had the belief that they were at a level to go on and win things which was ultimately proven outcome the season's end. This will be a sterner test than last season, Colney, who will be much changed from last season’s team I’m sure, are going very well this season and boast a 100% league record. Their only loss so far is an FA Cup tie against higher placed Corby Town. Knowing a few people from the Corby side of things, they were very complimentary as to how well Colney played, being well organised and causing Corby a number of problems. Whilst we consider the game a 'bit of a free hit' in terms of expectation given the difference between the 2 clubs we are keen to build confidence, very much like last season's game, as we tackle other big games in the coming weeks. Squad wise we will rotate some personnel from Wednesday night’s 2-0 win at Berkhamstead Raiders with those on the bench on Wednesday all likely to come into the starting XI. Dale Collins and Darryl Smith (if he gets back from his Thomas Cook booked holiday) will come back into the squad. We come off the back off a good week with important wins at Mursley United and Berkhamstead as we head into a couple of cup games over the next few weeks.
