Rhodes
Only Cheshunt and Colney Heath went ahead last night and London Colney or Tring Athletic won't be looking forward to entertaining the Theobalds Lane club in the Quarter Final. Cheshunt led 1-0 at the interval and it was only on 77 minutes that they extended that lead and then made it 3-0 on 84 minutes, Colney Heath were awarded a consolation penalty shortly before the end of the proceedings which Dan Westmore converted after George Devine hit the post, Cheshunt were reduced to ten men following the penalty when Joe Re un-necessarily handled on the goal line: Hertfordshire FA Senior Challenge Cup Second Round Cheshunt 3 Colney Heath 1 (attendance 83)

Rhodes
Baldock Town were desparately unlucky last night at the Orbital Fasteners Stadium to bow out of the Hertfordshire FA Senior Challenge Cup however they did so with their heads held sky high against Step 3 opposition. A main brick built club house down the left hand side of the pitch housing the bar and toilets and the tea hatch opened out on to the pitch side. Outside there were some open air benches. Opposite side of the pitch was a covered stand with green plastic flip seats. The pitch is very slightly down hill, looking nice and green at the start, but recent rain had made it very sticky, and it looked hard work for the players. Not a very inspiring first half making it goal less at halftime and the prevailing wind was having an effect. Hitchin took the lead after the interval, and Jake Hutchinson managed to convert a penalty making it a 2 goal lead.

Rhodes
Although the SSML no longer have an involvement in the Hertfordshire FA Senior Challenge Cup, I see there is still hope of completing the competition, and the Kings Langley v Hemel Hempstead Town Final, according to a recent news release on the Hertfordshire FA website. Leverstock Green, Tring Athletic, London Colney, Colney Heath, Harpenden Town, Oxhey Jets and Baldock Town represented the SSML in the competition that was first contested in the 1886/87 campaign and, disappointingly, all fell before the Quarter Final stage apart from London Colney who lost 2-0 to Cheshunt at Cotlandswick on a wet 18 February evening with the visitors Reece Beckles-Richards netting twice. The game was remembered for a miss by London Colney's Marco Faria of Ronnie Rosenthal proportions with ten minutes remaining that would have set up a grandstand finish with Ken Charlery's men arguably the better team on the night. Keeping you updated on the impact of Coronavirus on Hertfordshire football UPDATED 20/04/2020 13:00 Following the Government’s announcement for people to stop unnecessary travel and avoid social contact where possible, we are advising that all grassroots football in Hertfordshire is postponed for the foreseeable future. This includes matches, friendlies, training and any other football activity not compatible with following the Government guidance. In light of the current situation you should also be aware that any such activity may not be covered by your insurance at this time. We will continue to monitor developments and work closely with our stakeholders across the game. Further updates will be added to this page as appropriate. Concluding the Current Season The FA has released a statement on how the 2019-20 season will be concluded in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which you can read here. This decision has now been endorsed by FA Council. We are in contact with all Hertfordshire leagues to support them in determining how to close out thier current competitions and have provided them with guidance on how this can be done. With regards to County Cups, we have yet to make a final decision as to whether it will be possible for these competitions to be completed.
