Berkhamsted Raiders was called off by Kings Langley due to Ground issues - new date Saturday 14 December

Karen - Thanks, I can't say I'm surprised to hear that, I have been saying all season that Berkhamsted Raiders groundshare agreement with Kings Langley is quite precarious isn't it which I know has made life difficult for you

Karen - Thanks, was it due to a misdemeanour of some kind, I see now that Wormley Rovers host Sandridge Rovers next Tuesday in the remaining Quarter Final tie and Sarratt will travel to Oxhey Jets Reserves in the Semi Final. Happy New Year by the way.

Oxhey Jets Reserves and Sarratt will try again at the Boundary Stadium this evening, if Sarratt can repeat their dogged performance from Saturday against third place Codicote at George V Way, where they drew 2-2 with two strikes from Marcus Rivers, they may well find themselves in the Final of the Hertfordshire FA Senior Centenary Trophy on Tuesday 17 March against Wormley Rovers:

Although the SSML no longer have an involvement in the Hertfordshire FA Senior Centenary Trophy, I see there is still a glimmer of hope of completing the competition, and the Oxhey Jets Reserves v Wormley Rovers Final, according to a recent news release on the Hertfordshire FA website. Sarratt did very well in reaching the Semi Final and beating Wodson Park, Belstone and Berkhamsted Raiders along the way netting twelve goals in the process, the Quarter Final played at Kings Langley FC was an old fashioned thriller with Sarratt winning 6-5 on spot kicks after a 3-3 draw and young keeper Liam Studley performing heroics in the Sarratt goal on his old stomping ground where he started his career with Kings Langley:

Keeping you updated on the impact of Coronavirus on Hertfordshire football

UPDATED 20/04/2020 13:00

Following the Government’s announcement for people to stop unnecessary travel and avoid social contact where possible, we are advising that all grassroots football in Hertfordshire is postponed for the foreseeable future.

This includes matches, friendlies, training and any other football activity not compatible with following the Government guidance. In light of the current situation you should also be aware that any such activity may not be covered by your insurance at this time.

We will continue to monitor developments and work closely with our stakeholders across the game.

Further updates will be added to this page as appropriate.

Concluding the Current Season

The FA has released a statement on how the 2019-20 season will be concluded in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which you can read here. This decision has now been endorsed by FA Council. We are in contact with all Hertfordshire leagues to support them in determining how to close out thier current competitions and have provided them with guidance on how this can be done. With regards to County Cups, we have yet to make a final decision as to whether it will be possible for these competitions to be completed.

Disappointing news to report that the Hertfordshire FA have decided that it will not be possible to conclude any of their County Cup competitions for 2019/20, the Hertfordshire FA Senior Centenary Trophy is therefore declared null and void:

Due to the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 this season's Hertfordshire FA County Cups have been declared null and void

After careful consideration we have concluded that it will not be possible to complete our 2019/20 County Cup competitions in light of the Coronavirus outbreak and that as a result these have been declared null and void.

In a joint statement issued with our Competitions Committee, Hertfordshire FA Chair Graham Phillips said:

"COVID-19 has had a drastic impact on all of us not only football and has left us to come to terms with the loss of the ability to enjoy family and leisure activities we all took for granted and are now having to adjust to a different lifestyle choices, albeit for the right reasons. Government and Public Health England are updating on a daily basis the developments of the virus and we are all too aware of their message ‘Stay Home, Save Lives and Protect the NHS.’

There are still many uncertainties which have even developed during the lockdown and no indication when the ongoing and necessary social distancing measures can be removed to the point where football can safely resume.

Whilst there was a genuine desire to do everything we could to find a way of playing these Competitions the true reality of the situation was that there were too many unknowns to make this a viable option and we felt that the County Cups were not the primary consideration for participants at the moment.

When coming to any decision we realise that it is impossible to that will please everybody and sympathise with the teams that will miss out on the chance of playing in a Final at Hertfordshire FA. However, it should be realised that the decision was not taken lightly and was made in the best interests of everyone involved in football.

I hope you and your families are staying safe and we look forward to seeing you all playing and participating in football as and when it is safe to do so."

Further details of the considerations behind this decision can be found in the full statement which can be downloaded via the link below.

An added 'footnote' has come with the Hertfordshire FA's decision to null and void their 2019/20 County Cup Competitions whereby finalists, where already known, will be declared joint winners, therefore the joint winners of the Senior Centenary Trophy this season are Oxhey Jets Reserves and Wormley Rovers who were due to contest the Final:
