Away to the potentially massive MAIDSTONE UNITED

Shredding Green

Is the current club a Phoenix club like Hereford FC  or still the original?

A minor club which became a senior club.

The youth team Maidstone Invicta became an adult side after the original Maidstone United went into liquidation. They joined the Kent County League Division 4 for the 1993/4 season and changed the club's name to Maidstone United in 1995. They have climbed their way up the pyramid until last season's relegation..

Pre match interview with Maidstone manager on their Twitter feed (if any of the computer savvy members want to put it on here) Says they've  been missing three forwards through injury and two will probably miss this game He's  a wily old fox so might be a bluff Says his teams always start a season  slowly and finish well.

Maidstone, another 'big club' who don't have any parking for supporters.

They have reserved parking for supporters and public car parks are close by. Within walking distance of stations on both railway lines and well served by buses. An ideal ground for future green policies.

I'm looking forward to the finish ... Slough Town v Maidstone United on Saturday 25th. April.

Not sure they have reserved spaces for supporters, as a team (including everyone for the club) they have given us 10 spaces total to park at the ground.

Also they have advised us they don’t provide players with food after the game (the only team that has done this in the last 3/4 years), so we will not be going into the bar to put money behind their bar, win lose or draw.

In the end a good point, but what happened! We were dominate for the first 30 minutes and I could see only one winner and Maidstone were poor. But after that it more or less reversed and we gave away another cheap goal which obviously got their tails up. Maidstone on their second half performance and numerous on target chances will feel very hard done by only gaining a point. We seemed to have no attacking threat in the second half and very content to play out a draw. Nonetheless another solid defensive display and 2 unbeaten and looking more like our old selfs (well majority of first half at least!). Really impressed with their ground and superb noise and decent numbers from us away fans.

Yes Glen praise on several parts of their social media for our excellent supporters "behaved like home support and didn't give up till the final whistle" Our away support is mentioned regularly now on opposition sites

I believe any away point(s) is a good one and Neil is correct when he reminds us that it's a long season and we did have a lot of problems at the seasons start

2/15 points looks poor but is just a snapshot  We had a similar poor run at the start of the year last season I believe 7/30 points and we just missed out on the playoffs on the last day

Certainly no cause yet for alarm Neil/Jon have always managed to address hiccups and I'm  confident we will start collecting wins soon enough.

Great day out singing with the Rebel Army pity we have not got a stand like that behind the goal at Arbour  Park. When we was on top early on there keeper made a fine diving save denying Scott a goal with a fine header 2nd half back to the wall couple of top desperate clearances from Sean and Bird and Jack made up with a fine diving save similar to there keepers.

For the first 25 minutes or so we dominated play with Maidstone being made to look poor side.

Although we were all over Maidstone we still didn't look like we were going to score until Lenchy popped up with a shot that took a deflection and looped over the keepers head.

From that moment on we seemed to lose our shape and became dis-jointed.

Maidstone finished the half in the ascendancy eventually equalizing from another poorly defended goal.

The second half continued as the first half finished with Maidstone on top and by the final whistle I think we were mightily relieved not to concede again and to come away with a point.

In all honesty I still can't see where the goals are going to come from.

I see there coach and supporters believe they should of had a penalty for handball  must admit I cannot remember the incident. The support and singing was so good we even stopped there drummer boy for most of the game.

Actually their social media complains of  TWO penalties they didn't  get One "most refs would have given" and another dead cert

Anyone at the game see anything that could have been a penalty?

Obviously having Josh and Mark back would be a big boost but in fairness the defence in the last 2 games has in general been pretty good. Unfortunately it’s the attack that’s currently lacking but hopefully that will change and we’ll back to creating lots and scoring a few.
