Attendance 35 (including 4 from GI Scaffolding who disappeared at half time, never to return)
While the big boys next door were still messing around with PSFs (this one at home to Hitchin), the serious business of the season got under way at McMullen Park against a side almost virtually unknown outside their local area (in this case Haringey) with a strong emphasis on the Ghanaian community there. They were more than a match for their hosts who managed to get the ball in the net twice, only to have them both ruled out for offside and will return to the shadow of White Hart Lane well satisfied with their efforts.
Only my second ever visit to McMullen Park (since you ask, the first was on 2nd September 2006 when Leighton played Biggleswade Town in the FA Cup). Like Langford, it's VERY open with little relief from the hot sun or rain. Two small covered areas, both with bench seating although the smaller does have proper seats but they seem to be only for officials and guests.
A black mark was that the programme announced that "food and drink is available from the Clubhouse at all times today". Er, no it wasn't. It was shut and locked during the actual game and although there were prices quoted for burgers and chips I neither saw nor heard any evidence of their availability. Memo - take your own. At least the drinks were hot and in large cups.
Buckingham Athletic 0 Stotfold 1
FC Broxbourne Borough 2 London Tigers 2
Hillingdon Borough 2 New Salamis 7
Langford 2 Winslow United 5
Milton Keynes Robins F1 St Panteleimon 6
Rayners Lane 1 Enfield Borough 1
Wodson Park 0 Ampthill Town 4

Divsion 2
Aston Clinton 3 MK Gallacticos 4

A great start for the ground sharers. Harefield United are my dark horses for this season.

A big win for the Dynamos (One of my tips to do well this season)

All change at North Greenford United this summer and some work for them to do by the looks of it. I'm told they have a much younger squad of players this season. Biggleswade United are another one of my tips to do well this season.

A great start for Basher Bates boys. I'm sure the Wembley FC players would have all been treated to a free Sunday roast today ?

St Panteleimon and Salamis will bothe be right up there. Was told over the summer they have healthy budgets and very good players.

Was also told the same regarding St Panteleimon FC.

They were playing there home games at North Greenford United FC when they were a Step 8 club and all they needed was a park pitch that season (2017/18).

J.Molloy is a big player for them he is ex Edgware Town, North Greenford United, Northwood, Ashford Town (Mx), Hanwell Town, Hendon, Bedfont & Feltham, Havant & Waterlooville and Queens Park Rangers.

Feel free to post your results as I will not be doing them this season

Really, that's disappointing to hear, is that due to your 'workload'. I will try but I am a bit out of touch with the SSML having been out of circulation for sometime.

Reports and photos from both sides of the fence on this affair, it sounds like Eynesbury should have won comfortably on their eagerly awaited return to the SSML:

My workload has increased but with results now on Full Time within minutes of the final whistles people can get them there also my round up of games played can be found on the Spartan South Midlands League website

Karen - Yes but isn't that your own personal 'round up' and view of games which people might not necessarily wish to hear or be interested in, I try to include match reports where possible so they can get it from the horses mouth as it were.

Clubs are free to add match reports to Full Time and also if clubs want match reports on the website then they only have to e-mail them to me

Karen - I just find Full Time a little cumbersome that's all, that's no criticism of you and your hard work, I normally find people want a website where they can simply click on a link and all the information is there at their finger tips in one fell swoop

I am imagining Pete the Greek jumping up and down with joy at 4.50pm last Saturday:

Coming off the pitch at North Greenford United at that time.

I believe I was walking.

Among the red card and numerous yellow cards appearing on the above screen shot, I understand a  red card was also shown to a Team Official.

Can anyone solve the mystery of why the name of the Referee has disappeared from the above Full Time page?

Karen?

Sherlock Rhodes?
