Karen - That's interesting, can we read anything into that as Hertford Town's website were shouting about the eagerly awaited 'local derby' from the rooftops when the draw was made:

St Mags likely to be the new managers first competitive opposition

Hertford Town FC have been given home draw in the 1st round of the @hertsfa Charity Shield against local friends and rivals @StMargaretsbury.

Speaking to the website, manager Ben Herd said ''This represents a great opportunity for both clubs to kick start their seasons with a nice cup run. And its always nice to have a local derby to draw a good crowd to the club.''

The date of the game is to be confirmed.

London Colney take on Sawbridgeworth Town this evening for a place in the Quarter Finals of the competition, both teams will no doubt blood youngsters and fringe players for the tie and it's unlikely Cotlandswick will be full to the rafters particularly with Champions League action taking place

Yes, I see that it has been called off but apparently due to health and safety risks from the construction site next door to Rothamstead Park, it would be frustrating if the pitch was actually playable
