The Hinchingbrooke Cup is a lovely trophy isn't it, I wonder whether Stotfold would have gone on to lift it this season, sadly we will never know:

Huntingdon Town compete in the Hinchingbrooke Cup every season, winning it just once in 2013/2014, and I was quite impressed with their Jubilee Park ground which they only moved into in 2003 coinciding with promotion to Division One of the United Counties League for the 2003/2004 campaign. Floodlights were installed in July 2004 and the occasion was marked with a friendly against a Peterborough United XI on 27 July 2004 which Peterborough won 3-0 in front of a decent size attendance at Jubilee Park, Ryan Semple, Simon Rea and Matt Nolan netted for the Posh:

Yes it is a very nice trophy ?

Savagebee - Yes, the Hinchingbrooke Challenge Cup was established as long ago as 1894, it doesn't seem to be taken that seriously however apparently it holds an acclaimed heritage and is widely recognised within footballing Communities throughout its catchment area of Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. The competition is open to teams competing at Steps 5-7 of the National League Pyramid system and is a Charity based tournament relying on funding and support from various parties and sponsors, SSML Club's haven't done particularly well over the years and Arlesey Town's Semi Final home defeat to Step 7 Netherton United in February was really poor, Chico Ramos should be ashamed of that performance but then playing in front of a crowd of 43 at Hitchin Road can't have been that inspiring and having Alassane Gomis needlessly sent off in the first half can't have helped either:

There was some good news for Huntingdon Town earlier this month from another Forum:

Huntingdon Town Football club announces significant investment in to their Jubilee Park ground. Chairman Doug McIlwain has signed off on a substantial project of works to the Hunters home ground which will see a new Pitch Side barrier, New Doug outs, and new fencing surrounding the stadium. Chairman McIlwain was keen to highlight the assistance of fellow board members and the FA in securing the funds to allow the £150,000 Upgrades to be undertaken. McIlwain added “ These are truly exciting times for this club, with big changes both on and off the pitch, these upgrades will make Jubilee Park one of the premier facilities in the local area”.

Sorry folks, not SSML but Huntingdon Town again and a visit to Jubilee Park by 'Two Men In Search Of The Beautiful Game' last season before the curtain came down. I'm sure a SSML Club will be visiting there again before too long, maybe in next season's Hinchingbrooke Cup or Eynesbury Rovers in the Huntingdonshire FA Premier Cup or Senior Cup competitions which sadly also aren't taking place this season:
