Looking forward to this one, 1-1 I reckon. Warren Harris to score

What team would you play,WR?  Given our injuries and absences I'd settle for a draw [but hope we win!].

I would start the game with a 4-4-2 of

                             Turner

   Fraser       Hollis    S.Togwell      Worsford

   W.Harris     L.Togwell   Dunn      Lench

                         Bird     B.Harris

Subs: Armsworth, Davies, Williams, Armartey

One sub missing 3spirit.

This will be a very tough game as I see Dorking as a play off contender and they’ve got a lot of quality and experience in their squad (hopefully Briggs won’t score or have a blinder!). It’s a game that really could go any way, hard to predict with our unavailability. In truth 75% of our first choice defence is out, the top performer in pre-season is suspended and an exciting new winger is also injured. But whoever fills in we know will give their all and we still have enough to win, just hope fans’ expectations don’t shoot off the radar. Would we go 4-4-2 or maybe 3-5-2?

We got 5 out, there are no more players to fill the bench unless you mean the young goalie?

Yes, better than being a sub short.

How's Josh Jackman getting on?

Wasn't he expected to be fit to start the season?

Glen so are you saying we have not got quality  experience plus one season in this league in our team and hopefully big home support.

Dorking are still trying to fill a coach so really not sure how many they will bring.

The Dorking manager says they're fired up for their first match at this level but also says they will bring a large following to Arbour Park  but doesn't elaborate on his idea of large!

If they weren't fired up they'd have a problem.

No news as yet that Matt Briggs has signed.

I have already said on here somewhere that Marc White expects about 100 followers, so wait and see.

Incidently, Marc also quoted in the local press a couple of weeks ago, he was experiencing injury problems.  Might just be spin and hype though !

As GlenSTFC said, we have no other players. It's good to have 5 subs but you only have the option of playing 3, so having 4 to choose from is perfectly acceptable, given the current circumstances. The subs I named purposely, as Manny, Francis and Scott Davies can change the pattern of our play on their own, plus you also have the exhuberance of youth with Scott Armsworth.

First game of the season in the big scheme of the overall table doesn't count for much but as Slough are at home against a newly promoted side it would be good if we can, at least, put in a solid defensive display and create a few chances for our strikers. I'm expecting a hard fought game and Dorking to be chomping at the bit to get off to a winning start but our team has plenty of experience and should be able to cause Dorking enough problems to get something from the game.

Didn't realise we had a second keeper. How old is he and where have we got him from?
