3spirit
Surprised no one has put anything up about this yet, so thought I'd be the first. Have to say fixtures look ideal. Opening to Dorking Wanderers at home looks a great start, from an entertainment/open game point of view. Pleased to see we are still playing Wealdstone in our Christmas and New Year fixtures. April 2020 looks a challenging end of season but you get no easy games in this division, so hopefully it won't be a problem. Just have to hope that by then Slough have amassed plenty of points and are nearer the top of division than the bottom.
GlenSTFC
No big deal personally as with have to play every team twice so does it matter when we play them?

Well, we could have had a lot worse, in terms of the order of games, so personally I'm well pleased with how they have been arranged.
GlenSTFC
The great thing about the fixtures is the less miles to travel this season with arguably the 3 longest journeys gone in Truro, Torquay and WSM. I think our longest this season will be Weymouth and Braintree.
Curtis
Opening games of the season usually attract slightly bigger attendances.... so it’s nice we are at home to a reasonably local club that might bring a few fans as they are newly promoted. Always found August crowds poor as traditionally this is the most popular month to go away on holiday especially families (I should know as I’m going to miss definitely 1 possibly both of the opening games!). Dorking aren’t that well supported so wouldn’t expect more than 50 of them. I think the crowd will be around 750.

Being in a higher division and opening game of the season, and that Slough isn't the longest trek from Dorking, I would have thought there would be at least, 100 Dorking fans, poorly supported or not. Our average last season was 783...... and our opening game of the season against Hampton & Richmond (average attendances 605) was 866. I would like to think we have progressed over the last year & the Dorking match will exceed that.
GlenSTFC
I’ll bet it’s not over 866 although will be very pleased to be proved wrong!

I agree with you there, Glen, I can't see it being more than 866. I would guess at between 700 to 750. If it's a lovely sunny day it might push towards 800 but would be shocked if it's any more. Reading Rebel
There's a link on the Wealdstone forum for travelling distances in the NLS for 2019/20. The longest travellers are Weymouth with 2,898 miles followed by Bath 2,568 and Chippenham 2,259. The lowest travellers are Dulwich on 1,069 with Slough being the 3rd lowest on 1,215 miles. GlenSTFC
Interesting, must have an effect on budgets as coach travel isn’t cheap and Truro would have been an overnight stay?

HEAVY TRUCKER
a lot of games in the opening month most of them away, which will no doubt help in the winter months

You'll definitely have to bin those glasses you've had since we last played at Wexham Park ?
Matt
We certainly can't complain about our travelling over the Christmas and New Year period - five games between 21 December and 4 January, all either at home or a short distance away.
