Thanks Neil... How many more additions do you envision?

Current squad is 16 players, this includes Max... I'd love to see Billy Clifford come back...

Can't help but think that Francis might want to try to step up again!

Now we have Max I think we have more than enough cover in midfield.

Yes, Billy would add that little bit of quality but unless you rotate there will be good midfield players sitting on the sidelines and at this level unless you're paying silly money I'm not sure it works at least not for very long.

There's no point going to higher placed club if you aren't going to get games, or will just get loaned out. If Francis doesn't get above his station,he could be on a winner at Slough,as it's a great place to develop under knowledgeable managers and puts his performances in the shop window.

If he starts to do the business,he'll soon get other attention.

Different if he gets offered a professional contract with a league club but for now I think Slough is an ideal club to be at, for him and us.

Have you seen him play then, RR?

I've seen his name written down and I've seen Maidenhead and Staines on the odd occasion over the last few seasons but I can't recall seeing him.

I like the fact [written about him] that he is a tenacious left sided player [George Wells could do with some help] and it seems he has plenty of experience but I'll reserve judgement till I've seen what he can do.

Certainly reads like a good signing but so did Louis Soares. Unfortunately it never quite happened for Louis at Slough but I wish him and Nathan Smart all the best at their new clubs. Sometimes it's not about how good a player is, it's more about can they fit into the system the team plays, and can they up the ante when they get the opportunity to play. Nathan did do that to a certain extent but Louis didn't seem to grasp the chances that came his way. He was always going to have his work cut out to oust Wazza from the starting line up but Louis's form was sporadic at best. Age catches up with everyone [apart from Manny ! ha ha].

On Nathan and Louis I would think both players will get snapped up easy enough, more likely at Southern/Bostik Premier division level.

Though, Hungerford may take another chance again on Louis. At Hungerford, Louis may get more of a chance to star in the show, at Slough he hasn't.

3spirit, as Glen has said you don't have to see a player to know that they are highly rated/good player. Whether they will fit into certain clubs is another matter but on face value Max Worsfold is an excellent signing.

Max's profile say's that he is a hard working, attacking central midfielder but again I think he is versatile enough to play anywhere across the midfield.

I'd like to see Billy Clifford back, if we could get him,as he seemed to lift the players confidence, whenever he played, and seemed to bring about some extra grit in midfield but if it doesn't happen, it won't be the end of our team.

Might be wrong but I thought he was predominantly a wide player, who is left footed. Anyway, whatever on paper he looks a quality addition.

Saw him at Staines a few times and yes he played left wing/midfield. Adds balance to our squad plus experienced at Nat. South.

Max is predominately a left sided player, however can play central also.

Francis is signed on for next season.

Plan is to bring one more in, however with the possibility of bringing one more in during pre season depending on what becomes available,  that could be Billy it could be someone else, we have our other initial target and have met up with him, and will wait and see where that goes.

Great news about Francis . I think he is a great prospect . Seems mature beyond his years both in skill and attitude. I think that it is no coincidence that our late season run coincided with his appearance in the side . He fulfills the same pivotal role that Matt Stevens did, in that when we get the ball everyone knows exactly where the outlet is.

As for the players who have left just to say thanks to Louie and Nathan. Given that Smartie only came in as cover originally then played such a crucial role last year and was always there when we needed him this year. Very fitting that he got a cup winners medal to sign off with.

No, we do the team talk, we just don’t like to over-complicate things and talk for too long. Prefer to make a few key points and then leave them to it. There are enough big characters in there, those you mentioned and others too, who might choose to say a few things once we’ve gone but that’s up to them.

We encourage senior players to take responsibility but they still know who the bosses are! ?

I think Jon/Neil said they spoke to him this week and expect to know more next week. Hopefully we get an answer either way as you don’t want it dragging on for too long and you obviously you want players who want to be here for the right reasons. But on the flip side this player may well have other offers on the table and is understandably taking his time to make the right decision. I’m sure if we don’t get this target there are a couple of others already on the list.

Sure, no problem if there's other offers on the table but I'd give him about a week to decide then look elsewhere.
