New web-site layout

Recommended Posts

And presumably linked to the Footballwebpages site which shows us as incorrectly having average home attendances of 800, because they have never corrected our attendance at home to Woking which was 1,465 not 1,937..... correct average is 776.

And also shows Concord Rangers in 6th place on 61 points from 38 matches, when their match yesterday was abandoned and they should be in 9th place on 58 points from 37 matches.

So maybe not the best source to link to.

At first glance i like the new website, looks easy to navigate and looks very professional.  Can i ask about this forum, since it changed a few months ago when I had read a topic and then been off for a few days it would open up on the last thread I had opened.  Now I have to go through all the pages before finding new threads in the topic! Is there a setting i can change?!

There is a star on the left of the subject that is black if someone has added something new to the topic. Click on the star and it takes you to the latest unread comment.

I agree with Epicrebel, the old website was better. It looks like we have downgraded with the new one.

I'm with you WR, and Epic Rebel. I'm surprised we've changed it because to me it didn't need altering as it was so good. However, I'm sure we will get used to this new one.

One of the major benefits of the website refresh is that it’s now mobile and tablet friendly, whereas the old website was more difficult to navigate on a handheld device.

It’s worth bearing in mind that the old website had been in place for over 12 years and needed updating for various reasons. Also, please don’t underestimate the time and effort that goes in to creating a website like this from scratch (not from me I might add) by people behind the scenes, at no cost to the club, instead of opting for something generic like the Pitchero websites.

It’s obviously fine to not like it at first glance, but give it time and bear in mind constructive feedback and suggestions are welcome.

At first glance I do like the new web site design/layout.

Couple of points:

I cannot find the drop down boxes for our player stats and player database.

I can find goals scored league table but not for goals conceded.

The player stats/database page(s) are going to be added as part of various tweaks to be made. As for the league tables, that’ll probably be something to do with linking to the FWP site and will also be looked at.

As with a lot of things change may take some getting used to,  but i'm happy with the new look.

God forbid we ever end up with one of those Pitchero type things......

I’m pleased to see this as it has been a great part of our web-site.

On numerous occasions people have said to me that their friend, relative or colleague have played for Slough in the past, and it’s always been engaging to be able at the click of a few buttons to pull up the specific details for them.

Also great for keeping track of players achieving landmarks... 100 appearances, 50 goals etc.

Similar with the club database, when people say ‘I think we played Slough once back in the 60’s’.

There is if you click on our logo at the bottom.

Ah, didn't see that.

Perhaps it should be more easy to find like it was before under the news drop down box at the top or give it more prominence with it's own drop down box.
