I've got a feeling this could be the game when things finally go right in front of goal and we take our chances......4-1 !!

Frustrating not to have won that as I felt we deserved it overall plus we had a couple of decent chances that were wasted. I thought St. Albans were poor for the first 30 minutes but maybe that was more down to us restricting them. But it’s another unbeaten game and we’re now on a nice run which hopefully we can extend at Hungerford next Saturday although I’m expecting a tough game as they’re literally fighting for their lives on and off the pitch.

We were much the better side for the first 25 minutes taking a thoroughly deserved 1-0 lead and then inexplicably we seemed to lose our way giving the initiative to St Albans who then equalized just before half-time from what looked like a very soft goal to give away.

Again, I thought we played in fits and starts in the second half, playing some good football at times but losing our way at various stages of the half.

A very well taken goal from Lee Togwell looked like it might be the deciding goal but again we paid the penalty for conceding another soft goal from a simple cross to the far post presenting a player with a free header which ultimately caused panic in the six yard box giving St Albans a share of the points.

Maybe i'm mistaken but I thought Jack fumbled a straight forward catch for their 2nd equaliser??  (I still gave him MOTM though)

Yes Jack's mistake for their equaliser but he saved a pen and has been outstanding all season. The draw seemed the right result.

Here's a question for the nerds - when was the last time we had two brothers on the scoresheet?

Wasn't the Parson brothers.was it?

Stuntman Mark, what did you think of St Albans today?

I thought they deserved the draw today but definitely not as impressed as I was at their place.

It wasn't a question I knew the answer to! We wondered if Warren and Scott Harris ever scored in the same game? The only others I can think of were the Parsons and the Dells and I'm fairly certain that never happened.

Cheers for the reply, SM.

I always respect what you say, as I often seem to agree with it. That's why I was puzzled as to why you thought St Albans were such a good team at their place, when I thought they were pretty average.

To me Slough were poor at their place and threw away the points to them, rather than St Albans being a class act.

Couldn't make the game today [though wanted to be there], sounds like it was an even stevens game and could have gone either way. Funny enough I see a close resemblance to St Albans, to where Slough are at. Neither side are whipping boys but neither side are ready to make the top 7 on a consistent basis. Both teams can cope with this division but neither are going to dazzle this division yet.

As you say 3spirit not yet, not until next season that is

Being serious, on this seasons performances it would only take us to keep the players we want and add few shrewd signings for both us and St Albans to threaten the play-offs next season which is all we can ask.

Easier said than done but no harm in being positive.
