v. BILLERICAY TOWN

Yes, on first viewing it looks like the ref has got the wrong man i.e. a knee/foot into the face of Lee Togwell, by I think the number 11, but if you look closely at the right arm of Jake Robinson he lashes out at Matt Lench but to the credit of the ref he's obviously spotted it.

Well that was an eventful afternoon!

Starting with the game, I thought we played the conditions much better than Billericay and that was key. Not pretty but it worked and was a sensible game plan. Still needed a big effort and every single player put that in. Particularly enjoyed Francis Armarty's performance and thought Lench was very good too.

Then there was the unsavoury incidents. I was stood near the Billericay bench in the 1st half but I didn't hear what was initially said to their sub. He reacted by calling a fan a "stupid c***". Someone then said "You're a big man." To which he then threatened to jump over and smash their face in, or to that effect. I went to get a coffee at half time, and then noticed that he had actually jumped over the fence and was squaring up to someone. There was quite a crowd around them but could hear people saying he was threatening a 15 year old fan. There was talk of the police being called and as it was dying down a Billericay fan came along and was giving some too. No idea if it has been followed up but never seen anything like that before. There seemed to be a nasty attitude all round from Billericay. At least their keeper turned around his first half theatrics into having a laugh with the fans in the 2nd half. Couldn't see what the red card was for, anyone with a clearer view of what happened for that?

Mid way though the first half ( I was also standing near away dug out) the ball went out of play and landed near where the beer tent usually is. A Billericay sub (i wont name him on here as I have already sent a complaint to the National League & FA ) got up and asked for the ball. I responded by saying that "don't worry someone will go a fetch it as we can only afford one ball" He responded by verbally abusing me  and threatened others  standing near by (which included several minors and a disabled person ) At this point he also suggested that he was willing to take us all on after the match.  I know this sounds bizarre but what I have stated here  is an accurate account of  what went on.  On the stroke of half time he then jumped over the barriers and started to attack a young fan  (I don't know why ) who told me he was only 15. I got so out of hand that several security staff had to hold the player back and calm him down. Last year it is well known and  reported in several national  newspapers that a current Billericay player  punched a 14 year old after a match against Leatherhead.

What happened with Jake Robinson?

Did he appeal the red card? And if not what ban did he get?

If they're appealing, I think they have until 5pm today to do so, and then they might hear the outcome tomorrow.
