It is all about staying in contention.....a sniff of the playoffs and we get crowds of 700+........mid table they will probably drop off to 550

At an average of £10 thats an extra £1500+ per home game.....

I get what you are saying, Mark44 but our current squad are not good enough to make the play off's. You're living in cloud cuckoo land if you think they are. Anywhere between 10th place to 16th place is more likely for our team and perfectly acceptable. We haven't the quality in depth to challenge and are not consistent enough to be a play off team. A couple of injuries to our mainstays and we would be in trouble. The only thing that makes it seem possible, is that 7th position gets you a play off spot, and because we've had such a good first half to the season, it lulls fans into thinking we're better than we are. There's no disgrace losing to teams like Woking and Torquay but when you lose to Weston Super Mare and fail to beat Hampton, who are in disarray, I think the writings on the wall that we are not good enough for the play offs.

Just going by our last two signings, shows we are not going for it and to be honest, I think that is a wise choice to make, than overspend this season on a pipe dream.

A really disappointing return of one point from the last two games. Easy to say but really should have been all six. Almost a similar story in that we dominated the first half and probably warranted a two goal cushion. Second half, belief and confidence seemed to drain after the "worldy" to equalise. Nothing was sticking up front and play became laboured. Lenchy was getting joy down the left in the 1st half so not sure why he was switched to roam from the right in the 2nd half. At least we showed some character to rally for the last ten minutes though. The effort was there but the quality was desperately lacking. A really harsh week!

Well that is an embarrassment of a performance. 1st half we should have been out of sight, wasted chance after chance yet again. Our forward quality is non-existent.

Gloucester looked dangerous off the break the whole game and clearly we were un-done yet again in the first 5 minutes of the second half.

Jon's tweet about having loads of work to do is the biggest understatement of the season as at the moment, if we don't keep a clean sheet, we aren't getting any more than a point as we can score more than 1 goal.

In addition to the above, the woeful lack of basic control, the amount of passes that went to an opposition player and the general lack of quality in front of goal are just some things to start with.

All I can say is we are lucky that we have 40 points to this point of the season as I dread to think what Dartford and Bath will do to us if we play like the last 2 games.

Massive improvement needed.

Since 1st Jan we've won 1 league game out of 9 (W1D3L5) Its not a problem of the last few games Tonight was the first home league game since 19th Jan and yet just 460 turned up  We won't build the fan base on mediocre performances  We've won just 6 of 15 home games and that's not good enough to increase regular attendances  Our defence is fine but we can't score goals not because we aren't creating chances but because we can't put away the simplest ones I'm sure Neil/Jon will not allow further deterioration!

Here’s a statistic that might be of interest...... we have failed to win 8 matches where we have scored first, 4 have ended in draws and 4 we have lost. That is losing 20 points from winning positions, and I would be very surprised if there is a side in our league with a similar record.

In contrast when we have conceded the first goal we have only come back twice to earn something out of the match.... 1 win and 1 draw, gaining 4 points from losing positions.

I don’t know what this actually means, or why it’s happening, but it isn’t just the ups & downs of football......on a positive note though if we find a way to even partially resolve it next season then we will be challenging for a play-off spot.

Saturday was a good performance without getting the crucial second goal but for me tonight was just an all round abject performance.

I don't really think I can say the first half was anywhere close to some of the performances I've seen this season.

We started slowly then picked up to score our goal but again we failed to get a second goal which at the very least would have given us a cushion.

Unfortunately it went from bad to worse in the second half.

I'm pretty certain that the Gloucester keeper only had to make one save all night and that was right at the end.

Apologies if this sounds very negative but if I can sum tonight's performance up:

Toothless up front, no creativity in midfield and vulnerable to movement and pace at the back.

Big improvement needed for Saturday or we could be in for a pasting from an in form Dartford side.

I'm certain you are wrong as he pulled of a few early on in the first half, but saying that he shouldn't of been on the pitch for the deliberate hand ball.

The Gloucester forum reads much like the Hampton one did  Overun in the first half and should have been well down by HT  then Slough just huffed and puffed  through the second half and two good goals  gave us the game  Compliments paid by 3 posters on the quality of Slough Radio  Another mentions they have a 100% record  on 3/4G !

Only a red if he denies a goal. Personally I don't think Lenchy is in a goal scoring position heading towards the by-line and there was enough defensive cover. A yellow for sure.

From the other end of the ground it looked like a few scrambles, not sure if it involved the keeper or not, either way I don't think he had a lot to do and certainly second half he only had one save to make.

I say red because the ball was out of the area and the keeper knew that and deliberately stopped Lenchy getting the ball over to an empty net, for may be a tap in .

RR goalie made a fine come instinctive save from the shot that was headed on and heading for the corner of the net in the first half that would of made it 2 - 0.

I was looking forward to the match but unfortunately I had to cry off due to a health issue. In some ways I'm glad I missed the game now.

Epic Rebel, I admire your loyalty to the team but as we know, it's the referee's decisions that matter at the game and nothing will be reversed in this instance. If's and but's don't get you 3 points.

I was disappointed that a good result for Slough wasn't forthcoming but I do think we have to take into account that we have lost James Dobson, who has been a major influence in our attacking play for a few seasons. Given his goal scoring record was better than any of our forwards, he was always going to be a big miss.  Now that Scott Davis has gone, too, the rebuilding job of our team looks like it will take longer than one had initially hoped for [ we all hoped for a smoother transistion with Matt Lench rejoining, and with the loan signings/dual registrations we've done] but so far the goals/results haven't come, despite playing some good stuff at times. We aren't a million miles from getting it right but these last  three results are bound to knock the team's confidence, yet it's not going to get any easier for them with Dartford and Bath City up next and with Billericay and Woking to come in March.

I think the next three games are going to be crucial, in seeing whether we will need to add one or two quality players to our squad to turn our fortunes around, or whether we can see out the season with what we've got. Forget the play offs. Now we need to find three wins and possibly a couple of draws before the end of the season to put us safe. Job done. That task isn't going to be as easy as it sounds, now that we are having a rough time of it.

I don't know how feasible it is but with Kingstonian problems, I would inquire about the acquisition of either Elliot Buchanan or Louis Theophanous to freshen our front line. Both players have played at this level and could be ideal as either a stop gap to the season end, or if they do well with us, a shoe in for next season. They may view Slough as one last chance to prove their selves at a higher level, than either of them have been playing of late.  They may be on contract or too expensive but if you don't ask, you don't know.

If that's out of the question I would definitely look out for a proper left winger who is inventive on the ball from the level below.Matt Lench is getting better with every game  but I don't view him as our answer on the left, so would like to see another creative player added to our midfield, after all we are one experienced player down with Scott Davis leaving and the loan signing/dual registration was always going to be a gamble, which so far hasn't worked.
