Another tough one Chelmsford have won 5 of their last 6 games ( The only loss to Bath City) and have a good away record and are the third highest scoring team at present  but we seem to raise our game against the better teams  with our excellent defence and without doubt the league's best goalkeeper  Another game where I don't believe we'll finish pointless

I rate Jack Turner highly but I'm not as convinced he is the Conference South's best goalkeeper. I do believe we struck gold when we acquired his services and he has been a revelation for us, and long may that continue. I just feel there are at least, three that would rival him for such an honour.

I've no trouble agreeing that there are a handful of excellent keepers in our league but Jack always seems to make at least one save every game that  is a game changer  I've walked away from games so often thinking that the points/point we've picked up owe a lot to him!

As a shot stopper and a strong kicker of a football, there's none better but I would say there is more to being a top goalkeeper than just those aspects. You are right, though, he has kept our team in loads of games with his breathtaking saves and long may that continue.

The first hour was the neatest football we have played for a while, some nice link up and combinations and less long ball (not a criticism of a more direct style when it was needed in other games). The extra man in midfield helped for that and Flood played a very selfless game. Last half hour the team dug deep and worked so hard to see that out. Never at one moment thought we were going to concede either.

Great result, well played and well set-up by the managers!

Some fans getting impatient in the first half when the team was being patient and passing the ball, trying to find space and the right option. These are the same fans who would jump on the teams back for giving possession away or long balls - hope that as a crown we can cut that out and stop pretending we know more about winning football games than the players or staff!

I think Matty Stevens has played about 10 minutes of first team football since Peterborough recalled him, surely he’d have been better off in the long run for them and his development still getting games with us! Do you Reckon they’d be a chance of another loan deal for a crack at making playoffs, we’ve a great chance anyway, just a thought.

Welcome to the forum Craig.

Agree that with Matty Stevens being an unused sub again today what was the point in him returning to P'borough.

Great that he has been given a 2 and a half year contract but the lad needs to be playing games to improve.

Unfortunately it's something that will never stop. Some supporters will always think they know better than those who are in charge.

Would love to get Matty back, however this will not happen, I think he will end up out on loan again, though will be National League Premier minimum.

We ground out a great win today.Plenty of effort from our lads against what looked like a very competent Chelmsford team. I thought Guy Hollis had a storming game and was my Man of the Match. While it wasn't the greatest spectacle to watch, Slough never gave up and battled all over the pitch to get the win.

As a team we have definitely grown into the Conference South and are matching most of the best sides in our defensive duties but somehow we need to add to our offensive game. I thought it was a bit daft to bring all our players back to keep Chelmsford at bay in the latter stages of the game,as it wouldn't have done any harm to leave one attacking player up near the half way line, as everytime we cleared our line we never had anyone to run after the ball and so the ball came straight back to our penalty area and we found ourselves being pinned back by Chelmsford.Apart from that, I thought it was solid enough display by our team and tactically we got it right against one of the better teams in this division. Was never going to be a goal fest but the result was more important this time around and has put us into tenth in the table. A commendable win in my eyes.
