Joined us from Saltash  in Cornwall 1987 we played them in a cup game could of been that season as once known he was moving job to RAF base could of been Northolt he then came to play for us a legend . Every time we played Wycombe it always seemed like there players were encouraging him to join them.

Paul Doswell noticed the contribution that James Dobson made in the two FA Cup ties. In National League, Sutton United have scored 38 goals in 28 matches (1.357 per match) compared to 29 in 24 matches by Slough Town (1.208 per match). Just eight points behind Leyton Orient with a game in hand, if James can make Sutton United's performances slightly better in their remaining 18 league matches, they will at least be in the National League play-offs.

By the evening of Saturday 9th. February, James will have got a good feel of life near the top of National League. I'm sure that all the players and staff at Arbour Park will be pleased to hear from him every now and again! 

Let's hope he can make the difference for us. We certainly need to score more goals, hopefully Dobson will be the man for the job.

I meant to ask (so long as its not confidential) how you found dealing with a players agent Dobbo has tweeted his thanks for them sorting his deal out quickly. Were you still able to speak with Dobbo and Sutton officials or was it through the agent?

We spoke to all parties, there was a statement from his agent after the deal was concluded.

Dealing with agents varies depending on them, the players and what us as a club are looking to do.

Six points behind the leaders Leyton Orient with a game in hand and home to them at Gander Green Lane on Saturday 13th. April.

Sutton manager pretty slating of their performance yesterday saying their 'wide players' were not good enough on the day and that Dobson didn't close the player down for their goal.

Dobbo was substituted immediately after Dagenham scored.

Seems that Dobbo didn't have a particularly good game last week and going by Paul Doswell's post match comments was partially blamed for the winning goal for not closing a player down.

I don't get the obsession with former players. Dobbo had an excellent second spell with the club, I wish him well but do we really need a weekly update on his progress at Sutton? And as for Elliot Buchanan....

I don't see it as an obsession, I see it as being interested in non league football as a whole and besides it's each to your own.  If people want to mention former players then they can.

I read a lot of non league football forums and pretty much every club has threads on former players, so why should this forum be any different.

I think its simple really If a topic appears in which you have no interest then just scroll past and find something else I believe a lot of members have an interest in past players This topic has had over 2000 views since Dobbo left
