Windsor Rebel, I did say that it was my armchair reaction to hearing Ben had been sent off. My other comments have come replying to posts aimed at mine[and others] comments.

Having earlier today watched the footage, that Stuntman Mark has kindly put up on this thread, I think the referee was right to send him off. I thought the booking and the gesture had been two separate incidences, what I hadn't realised was that they both had occured in a continuous way.

To me the booking was a definite foul. Didn't think Ben's gesture was obscene.More like he is conducting the chorus of disapproval from the Torquay fans, to wind them up, which I didn't think was anything that bad but it was downright stupid to do it at that moment, in such a blatant way, when the referee has just booked him and is watching him run back. That is undermining the refs authority and asking for trouble.

It's not a hanging offence but he did cost Slough the game. Let's hope he learns by it.

So now the ref is saying he was wrong to send him off,,,, he's also wrong by you???

edit Did you see the video I put up????

This is also the last thing I say on this,

YOUR WRONG (whooooooops) ????

Your watching to much rugby.

Amazing those who jump in first with comments on any game are those who do not go.

Being away myself I have no right making comments on a game if I have not seen it.

Not amazing at all because they are probably listening at home and on their computer and not returning from the game.

So what's your opinion now you've seen the video, or haven't you got one?

If I choose to watch rugby instead of football, that is my choice.

Just because I don't want anymore to travel long distances to away games, doesn't make me any less a supporter of Slough Town FC. I think I've proved my loyalty to the club over the years. I may not be as active a volunteer as some but I pay money to watch the Rebels most weeks at home and the nearby away matches, and have always been obliging to help where I can. I consider that enough to be a fan.

I've already explained my position about the where's and wherefores on the Ben Harris incident. At last night's game I even spoke to Bakes about it.

Why you're piping up now, when the conversation has moved on, I don't know. I suggest you get on and enjoy your holiday and stop fixating on, what is happening back here in Blighty.

I'm surprised this is still getting mileage   Neil has said that what Ben initially  did was 100% wrong unacceptable and mustn't occur again and he's been told that that's the clubs official line  Subsequent events after the initial event are just a sideshow and we must await the result of our appeal   That may be the time for further comment.

Seems like if an appeal was done it has been turned down as Unders said in his interview that Ben Harris will be unavailable Saturday.

Appeal was turned down, main reason being that these days referees do not put a report in, Andy in fact only have a drop down box for reason player sent off with no explanation, the ref had told me the only thing he could put it to was foul and abusive language.

As you can imagine despite us saying what had happened and the ref saying that part was incorrect now, we lost based on he could have sworn.. you end up appealing everything and not the actual reason player was sent off.

I will keep my views of the appeals process to myself, but to say we are unhappy is an understatement.

Time to move on however.
